No problem. Idaho stinks and Utah isn't that good and this league has some of the weaker Cali teams, so Oregon might win a game or two as they are playing teams that are only slightly better than OPL teams. The development won't be much, but the tallies in the win column will be good for them.

There are some great ECNL teams out there and it would be great to play them on a regular basis. However given the dilution of the NW division of ECNL, I'm not sure the competition will be consistently high. And as you say, the showcase tournaments will likely slot teams of similar level, which may mean Oregon teams are playing the more marginal ECNL teams. This might bode well for results but might not bode well for development or exposure. But time will tell. Things might turn out just fine.
If they "slot teams of similar level" isn't that kind of an unofficial "div 1" situation? Good enough to take your money but you don't get to play the big boys? - that's not right.

But that's exactly how it's going to work.

One thing is for sure, ECNL is already very succesful in Oregon when it comes to getting all of the attention.

Another relevant point is that ECNL is not the antichrist,

No one has said it is. The Oregon ECNL parents, at least some of them, on the other hand, ....

We have met the antichrist, and he is GW.

The Academy showcases are not going to have either the competition or the exposure of the 3 ECNL showcases.

It could be argued that the Regionals will be on par with the 1st round of the ECNL playoffs but at the end of the day the girls in the ECNL will have played more games against better teams over the season.

While the gross cost for the ECNL are higher the per quality game costs are nearly the same.
This is a very interesting perspective.

I know, it's stealing all the thunder away from TA/OYSA!!!!!!! Can we please talk a little about Grants Pass now?

The next TA club, no doubt. They're tearing it up in OYSA this year.

An absolute powerhouse. Close enough to the California border that I think they should join some North Cal league or maybe apply for an ECNL bid.

No, we need those players in a couple of year to play in the Thorns academy for a year or maybe two.

So the Thorns academy is depending on Grants Pass?

Have to rotate it around. This year it was the WST team, next year or two it will be FCSC's team. Then Grants Pass!

Do they pass the jerseys down or just the patch?
