I know my attitudes have changed significantly as my daughter has aged. I think I was making a big deal about very little at the younger age groups. Anymore we all know each other through many different avenues like players switching teams or ODP. My DD has friends on at least 6 different teams. It is difficult to bash your friends!! Beyond that I think many of us parents are focusing on college recruitment and what the best fit for our girls are.

After Spring Break

Lets look at the standings and analyze possible outcomes of the top 5;

OSSA
Leads league by 2 points. Has 1 game left against EMFC.

THUSC
2nd by 2 points. 1 game remaining against FC Portland. Needs a win and an OSSA tie or loss to have a shot at #1. Goal differential will possibly come into play.

FC Portland
3 points off the lead. 1 game remains against THUSC. Needs a victory by at least 8 goals and for OSSA to lose to have a chance at #1.

ESUFC
6 points off the lead. No games remain. Cannot advance any higher than 4th place.

EMFC
6 points off the lead. 1 game remains against OSSA. With a victory can only advance as far as 4th place, bumping ESUFC to 5th.

My daughter plays on a ID spot with crossfire and that is not a ECNL team. In general, the ECNL teams only do ECNL showcases as it isn't worth their while.

A total of 8 teams in Feb.'s Showcase including 3 OR teams and no So Cal teams, as opposed to approx. 60 teams filled with SoCal and NoCal teams in March. Apples and Oranges for those thinking about future years.

A total of 8 teams in Feb.'s Showcase including 3 OR teams and no So Cal teams, as opposed to approx. 60 teams filled with SoCal and NoCal teams in March. Apples and Oranges for those thinking about future years.

True about the number of teams and that there was no CAS teams in Feb. There were CAN teams and if you look at the opponents State/Regional/National rankings, I would say it was a lot closer than you let on. You may say there were 60 teams, true, but they only play 4 games. Example, if one team plays a CAS team that is ranked 77th in CAS and the other team plays a team that is ranked #1 in NV, who is playing the tougher team? Just my opinion of course.

While I agree that there could be several league title implication games preparing for next eekends state cup is more important. Blue/EMFC today is repeated in 2 weeks in State Cup play as is FC/Thusc. Teams will be looking to build on todays games but maybe not show too much in advance of playoffs?
