Oh Brother - we need to stir the pot - not enough THUSC bashing for a few weeks.
Last I heard - THUSC doesn't have to go anywhere - THPRD is honoring their contract with them.

Not True
Letter was sent to Thusc members indicating club was looking at merger with other clubs, financing fields and other things.
Thusc has talked to several clubs about merging but are unable to strike a deal.
Sorry to burst your bubble.

[QUOTE=Unregistered;622830]Well he (Tom) met with Sherwood and was told to take a hike. He was told the same up in Vancouver. It's a shame his members are kept in the dark.[/
That was all early on before THUSC hired a lawyer. The financially unstable WSM (to many scholarships) was trying to force a merger with the very finacially stable THUSC. At that time THUSC was looking at all options. Now since the legal team was hired all seems to be back to the original contract. Funny how that works. I think there is still three years on the original contract.

Said Letter. (08/13/11)
Dear THUSC Parents:
The THUSC Board wishes to address some issues related to the use of the fields within the Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District (“THPRD”) boundaries. The purpose of this letter is to provide factual information in a transparent fashion and to dispel rumors that are being posted on the web, or statements that have been made about THUSC’s continued ability to use the fields owned, managed and, permitted by THPRD- (“the THPRD fields”) Working with a volunteer affiliated task force, THPRD has gone through a process to examine field use by all sports and at all levels. This process is more fully explained in the letter from THPRD, with FAQ’s that we provided to you earlier. As a result, THPRD is currently examining field use by the two classic club soccer programs on the THPRD fields. THPRD is implementing limits on the use of the THPRD fields by out-of-district residents versus in-district residents. THPRD has instructed both programs to address the high numbers of out-of-district participation in its programs and to bring its programs in an overall compliance with an 80 percent/20 percent/50 percent policy on in-district versus out-of-district participation (the “80/20/50 rule”). THUSC is working hard to achieve these numbers and has made significant headway toward these goals. In further compliance with THPRD’s policy, THUSC is locating non-THPRD fields for use by the THUSC teams whose numbers are significantly off compliance with the 50 percent rule.
THPRD has suggested that one way to increase participation by in-district members at the classic soccer level is to combine the two clubs into a new club. In light of this suggestion, the THUSC Board members have met several times with the Westside Board members in order to discuss what such a combined club might look like. THUSC and Westside have not been able to agree on some very important elements of a new combined club. The THUSC Board is not convinced that a combined club will benefit all of its members and therefore those discussions are currently at an impasse.
The conversation of merging is not new and is in fact common amongst many soccer clubs in the area. THUSC has discussed merging with Westside on and off for several years. We’ve also had similar conversations with other clubs. As none of these previous conversations have led to an agreement that would benefit THUSC membership, we’ve remained our own club. THUSC and THPRD currently have field use agreements that permit THUSC to use the THPRD fields. The THUSC Board is in discussions with THPRD about the expiration of the field use agreements. Therefore, the rumor that THUSC is losing its right to use these fields is not accurate and is misinformed. There is a possibility that if THUSC does not bring its numbers down to an acceptable limit in compliance with the 80/20/50 rule, then our field use agreements may not be renewed as they expire.
We are confident that we can meet these limits; however the possibility of this occurring is why THUSC is considering other options for the club’s future. To be prepared for all contingencies regarding field use, the THUSC Board has been considering other options. The options are many, including continued negotiations with Westside, securing non-THPRD fields, negotiations with other soccer clubs outside of Beaverton regarding other possible mergers, fundraising to build an independent club training complex, and negotiations with THPRD to renew the field agreements within THPRD’s requirements that the club
meet the 80/20/50 rule. Each of these options would have benefits and drawbacks that could have dramatic effects on THUSC in the future, and on the future of soccer in Beaverton. THUSC is very proud of the soccer club that we have built. We have excellent programs and coaching at all levels for both boys and girls and are respected throughout the state, and nationally as a competitive soccer program.
The THUSC Board is most concerned with pursuing the option that will benefit the majority of its members, and therefore welcomes input from its members regarding options for the club’s, and competitive soccer in Beaverton’s, future.
The THUSC Board hopes that families with questions or concerns will ask a Board member. The THUSC Board wants this exploration process regarding the club’s future to be as transparent as possible and welcomes input from families. To facilitate this open-door policy, the Board is assigning each team with a Board representative who should be the team’s first source of contact for information. That is not to say that you may not discuss this with other Board members, or with me. This is merely a structure so that any one Board member is not inundated with calls or emails. You may also refer to the THPRD
website for additional information, www.thprd.org/sports
The Board wishes to thank each and every family for its continued support. We feel that there are very exciting opportunities for THUSC in the coming years and are happy that you can all be part of the process.

FAQS
1. I have heard that THUSC is loosing its right to use the THPRD fields, is that true?
No, this is a rumor. THUSC has two field use agreements with THPRD, which are still in effect.
2. When will these agreements expire?
We have several years left and are currently working with THPRD to determine the exact expiration dates.
3. What happens when those field use agreements expire?
The THUSC Board is currently examining its options of what to do as the field agreements expire. THPRD wishes to lower the use of its fields throughout all sports by out-of-district members versus in-district members. Therefore, THUSC has several options which include, but are not limited to:
-Working out an acceptable merger arrangement with Westside (who has also been asked to lower its out-of-district district participation in its club);
-Renting non-THRPD fields. While we are a THPRD affiliate, we still have a considerable field
cost with THRPD which could be spent to rent fields outside of the THPRD boundary.
-Working out an acceptable merger arrangement with another soccer club.
-Saving money and working on fund raisers to build our own soccer complex. While this
would be ideal, it would take considerable funds to raise the money to build our own fields.
If we were to do this, however, then we would not have conditions on the membership of our club.
-Renegotiating the field agreements with THPRD without combining with Westside, which
would require that we limit out-of-district players in our club.
