Sherwood is the favorite but they will have their test this league on league play. Wilsonville will be a great test to start. Last year league champs.

Then at Liberty on Thursday. Another talented team that beat them last year at Sherwood.

I noticed that Sherwood won the Sherwood Wilsonville game last night. Any details? Does anyone know what the club player make up of Sherwood is? Thanks

Not surprised about girls Sherwood/Wilsonville results. Wilsonville isn't as strong as people are suggesting and Sherwood seems to be having another great season. Best of luck in the playoffs for 5A to both squads.

This is true. I am not sure where the earlier post came from that Wilsonville would be a test to Sherwood. Wilsonville got killed by some TRL(6A) teams. Sherwood has beaten all the TRL teams they have played. Wilsonville is made up of mostly B team club players. Sherwood is made up of Ireland players and a top scorer from FC. (No none of them are my kids.)

Metro League Match-ups 10/3

OK, let's get back into the action;

Aloha vs Westview
As well rounded as Aloha is starting to get, they will be no match for a Westview squad coming off a loss. The Cats will come out motivated with a 2 ton chip on their shoulder and plenty to prove. This one could get downright ugly I'm afraid. 4-0 Westview.

Beaverton vs Southridge
As much as Westview will bring the sledgehammer because of the loss, Southridge will bring the confidence due to the win. They are soaring and have every right to be. If they can keep the intensity they should walk away with a sound victory 3-1.

Jesuit vs Sunset
The age old #1 vs #2, battle of the night. Sunset's roster is as healthy as it has been all season and they'll need every ounce against Jesuit. Jesuit has been kinda coasting through with a couple scares from SHS, WHS and SRHS. Could this be the week Rome falls? I am going with the #2 dog in the fight; Sunset 2, Jesuit 1.

While coming of the loss, the Wildcats have 3-4 players injured on an already short roster... I still believe it will be a WHS win, but only by a margin of 2-0

Wow, really. Did not know that. Not injured seriously I hope. Sometimes I don't like the HS season very much for just this reason, so many injuries!

Yeah Tualatin lost their best player for the season last night to a ridiculous and callous play by the opposing team. Happens sometimes but its such a shame as it was in the first minute of the game.

Wilsonville played good defense, in my opinion, but failed to break through the Sherwood defense. We scored twice on penalties, one I have to admit was an odd call by the ref, but you take goals when you can get them. We still need to gel, so to speak, as a team offensively. Sherwood attacks very well and in groups, not just one scoring threat but a few.

Sherwood 5, Wilsonville 2.

Sherwood has 3 or 4 Ireland players, and 1 good forward from FCPortland. They should do very well in league and I imagine be tested deeply only by other teams with as many good club players as they have.
