Nice article. Those girls must must have alot of talent and they are staying in state for college.
My kids are many years away from their age group but I am courious is it common for players at U17 to join clubs so far from home? How do they practice?
Great talents indeed. The article mentions their 2nd/3rd grade team, even their 1st grade team, but not the four plus years they spent with FC Willamette Possession? A team with whom they won a State Championship with? Curious.
THUSC does a great job getting the press out about their athletes. This isn't abnormal for any of the other top clubs in the state. Infact, this same thing is happening all over the state every year.

Please explain what you posted. Do you mean to lessen the good news for these girls or do you just dislike THUSC? Exactly what same thing is happening all over the state? Please explain, if you can.

This is a great article for THUSC. I am not knocking the accomplishments of these girls or the program. This is very exciting for both of these players.
I was just meaning to state that if we were to post every article of Division 1 commitments for this age group on up from our state that this forum would be full.
I was also stating that THUSC does better than most clubs for recognizing publicly the achievements of their athletes. This is not a bad thing, in fact it makes the experience seem a bit more special for the kids that are recognized in the club. Most clubs don't publicly announce all of their commitments in the club to college or Professional.
I posted this not to rain on the parade of the girls, but to give an understanding that this is one of many great things that are going on in Oregon soccer in one of many great soccer clubs.

Thank you for your very reasonable response. I will post later the girls that have made verbal college commitments, because there are really not all that many. Most of the information about verbals and NLI's come from sources other than the clubs. And, many clubs are delighted to announce the college bound players on there websites and to the press. College coaches and/or their programs also announce these "signings".
