It was the OPL that stepped away, and the rest of the clubs that followed that divided soccer in this state. Nobody forced anyone to leave.

You are right OPL stepped away for something better. They take their competitive soccer seriously. OYSA did not. OPL was not forced away they moved away and all of the clubs that followed suite voted with their dollar.

They went to something they viewed better. Call it OPL's fault fine; but OYSA is just as much at fault for not listening to its customers.

ODP or ACADEMY?

And instead of wasting so much time arguing about who is doing the screwing (OPL vs. OYSA) Why don't we stop the screwing. Focus on the actions, not the personalities. I don't care if the OPL DOC's have their panties in a wad, or if OYSA doesn't have a clue what they are doing. I want my Child's teams to be able to play all of the best teams in the state, Compete in a true Regional tournament and grow as much as possible from their experience with youth soccer.

OPL,OYSA, get over yourselves, step on the gas, and get this thing solved before fall season starts. If you can't do that, then lets pull the plug on both of them!

OK late to the game...

I would like to add that we were at the regional US CLUB tournament in Seattle this weekend and it was more competitive in our age group than it was last year. In fact, in some age groups I would say more competitive than our state cup here in Oregon.

Do I understand this individual to be lauding that in "some cases" us club regionals was more competitive than state cup? ? ? I would hope a regional tournament would be more competitive than a state cup at every age group.
