    Cascade Waterfront has been cancelled

What's the inside story on this one? This is the summer of soccer tournament discontent!

This will certainly hurt CFC's bottom line. Will we see clubs folding before fall season?

They were really looking forward to charging everyone $25 a day to park as well! Should have been canceled years ago.

That's too bad, they had made a decision this year to move the tournament to the same weekend as Regionals. This provided a tourney for all the teams not going to regionals, as well as assuring visitng teams that the top teams wouldn't just be lying in wait to clobber everyone.

It seems like a bad summer overall for tournaments. Too many clubs going out of state, or OPL clubs staying away from OYSA tournaments, and OYSA clubs staying away from OPL tournaments.

Is this the better, more competitive soccer landscape we have all longed for?

We may have to trade less in-season travel for extensive summer travel.

Oh well, we can't complain too loudly, nobody screwed us but ourselves.

There are no risks to tournaments in Oregon. The only difference is the trends that are changing.

More teams entering tournaments, just entering DIFFERENT tournaments.

in another thread peps were complaining of playing the same team all summer long that they would play in the fall/winter/spring leagues, so they were going out of town. now you come on here and question why tourneys are being canceled right and left.

              Maybe I misunderstood

It seems inconsistent to claim "there are no risks to tournaments" in a thread about the cancellation of a tournament.
