    THUSC Tourney

THUSC tournament coming up this weekend. I know a lot of clubs shook up thier roster with tryouts. Should be interesting to see if any clubs signigicantly improved.

    Predictions?

For U12G: Gold Bracket- FC Ptd; Silver Bracket-VUSCA

    For U13G: Gold Bracket-THUSC; Silver Bracket-WUCS

Aren't the Usonians playing in this tourney? Iridium will "win easy" over the team that beat them in state cup finals and supposedly only got better?

Also, It looks like Onyx is playing up. So, did the previous poster expect Gallium to win U13 Gold?

Finally, what is THUSC Xenon (also in U14G Gold)? Does THUSC have three U14 teams?

            U-12G will be interesting because:

THUSC usually struggles against FC (lost to them in Fall and Spring)
FC has been struggling against EMFC (failed to beat them last three games/ 2 ties)
EMFC always struggles against THUSC (only team Athletica hasn't beaten)

Eastside will be the wild card, they won't win it but could very well pull off the upset that prevents one of the other three from making it to the finals.

Onyx is playing up to prepare for the California trips. And yes, THUSC has 3 U14G teams.

That is pretty interesting. One would have to assume from the tournament brackets that the new team is better the old B team. Any insight on the make-up of this team (how many former Iridium players, former Radium players, outside players)? Is this team going to attempt to play Premier in the fall?

Well, let's hope they both don't end up in the Final, because they probably won't play it so nobody's feelings get hurt.

Personally I think it comes down to FC and EMFC.

No offense to THUSC, who has a dominate team in the other age groups, but in this age group they seem to be a notch below FC and EMFC.

This tournament is Westside's chance to prove that they are still relevent in the premier division. Your lack of mention of them in the above post tells me that we have some convincing to do!

Interesting comments about u12 THUSC you are right they are rarely out in the lead - however they rarely are not to far from the lead either. What about the other two do you think puts them ahead?

It is only U12, but Westside was in the bottom 3 for both Fall (2-7) and Spring (1-4-3)

I agree THUSC is not too far behind. FC showed consistency through the Fall and Spring season and look headed in the right direction. EMFC looked ordinary in the fall but came on like gangbusters in the spring. With thier big athletes and being the only game in town in Eugene, I figure they are here to stay. To me, it looked like THUSC took a step backwards in the spring.

But that is one parent's perspective who just catches my kids games. Heck after reading the metro fan's post, I'm backtracking and saying it's anyone's tourney with FC and Althetica slight favorites. Fair enough?
