You know, so much hot air has been wasted going back and forth about which is a bigger deal US Club regionals/nationals, or USYS Regionals/Nationals. Everyone has an emotional tie to the discussion. Seeking an objective viewpoint I recently came across the following quote on the US Club Soccer website (emphasis added)
"As in previous years, a team that has applied for a National Cup X Regional which subsequently <b> wins its state cup or US Youth Soccer Regional League, and chooses to attend the US Youth Soccer Regional<b> instead of the US Club Soccer Regional, will receive a full refund."
Straight from the horse's mouth is acknowledgement that it is bigger to win the USYS tourneys, and that if a team won both, clearly it would make sense to go the USYS route. As always good luck to all Oregon Teams, represent the state well, and remember out of the state, we are all Oregon!
