The Jeld Wen innovation thread brought something to my attention. If Portland's stadium can expand greatly we could in fact afford better players. The MLS needs to consider having its teams with the most attendance expand their team's stadiums. The extra revenue generated can be given to the MLS to give deserving cities that would attract a great soccer attendance. This would lead to a relegation and promotion system from the USL, honestly what MLS soccer needs. Is it possible to get funding for the vast enhancement of small Stadiums that attract big audiences. The only exceptions are teams like Seattle who should be opening up everything to try and create revenue like no other. So, my question is: WHY IS THE MLS BEING SO CONSERVATIVE???? The NASL crashed because their was no relegation, just Promotion... which led to the collapse. Need your input... Thankx

I absolutely would love to see MLS continue a path of strong growth, but it needs to be measured, deliberate, appropriate growth. We are lucky to live in a market that is packing our stadium every game. This is still the exception. MLS will continue to grow, but I think it is smarter to have this driven from fans, rather than front office ambitions.
