    How to keep laces tied

    Hi,

My son has the Adidas F50 adiZero cleats and his shoelaces are constantly coming untied even though we double knot them. Any suggestions to help keep them tied, it's so frustrating?

Thanks for your suggestions and help!

This is so funny. I was just thinking the same thing this weekend and sincerely wish I had the answer. Drives me crazy when I see kids (mine in particular) unnecessarily taking themselves out of play due to shoelace issues. Even John Wooden would start every season with a lesson on lacing and tieing shoes.

I thought maybe there was some secret I didn't know about? :) I feel silly asking this question but it's a huge problem.

Check this out. (Adidas also makes one similar)

Both Far Post Soccer and Tursi carries them. They are suppose to make a better sweet spot on your shoes, but I find that it helps keep the laces tied. They cost around $5 a pair.

It is tough when they are younger and the laces get untied. They seem to take 5 minutes to re tie and when the laces are wet they get untied every few minutes.

        Hope this helps.

I actually just bought my son some new laces that are flat. The adidas laces are slippery and come undone easily. Since I purchased him the flat laces he hasn't had any problems.

We actually triple knotted my son's F50's. The flat laces worked a lot better when we replaced the laces

What about lock laces or ibungee laces?

                double loop, then double know

you make two loops, not one.

Yes, try this: http://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/secureknot.htm. Definitely does work with the newer slippery laces.

If we don't get up to 100 posts on the thread, then I'll be disappointed. I bet you weren't aware that some teams recruit those who specialize in shoelace tying, and that kids from WA tie their shoes better than kids from OR.

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but you abuse the privilege.

If you're dumb enough to buy such expensive shoes for a kid, it's no surprise that you can't figure out how to tie a a capable knot.

Very cute and funny given the tone of these forums. I give you a ten.
