So is it worth $300 to send an 8 year old to this 2 day camp? Just wondering why it's so expensive?

its emphasis is on technical foot skills not on general soccer skills.

you should go watch his private training sometime

Paul says you can email him anytime for dates, times and locations at:

                      paul@finezzasoccer.com

Mon-Wed weekly trainings take place in Beaverton from 4:15-5:30 for the younger ages.

I guess that's your opinion and everyone is entitled to it so Im not here to argue your point.

But the facts are: Four of his younger Maestro's are in the ID2 camp, 3 of his 97G's are in the Oregon ODP pool and 2 in foreign national programs...................so Id say he does something alright with the younger ages, which is what the original poster was asking for and about.

The training will be top notch and most likely the best our community will see this summer.

An 8 year old should either go to a Timbers, Portland Rain, or UP Camp.

Don't spend the $300. At 8, they should be running around and having fun instead.

The facts are simply these: You, nor I, know if this guy made these players the stars they are or how much they were influenced by him. They spend way more time with their club coaches. They may be naturally gifted. We don't know. You are implying that the trainer did this all. SIMPLY NEVER TRUE. Soccer skills and success come from a variety of sources. Parents - don't waste money and time based on who attends a particular coaches sessions. See if it works for your player. By the way, you mentioned 3 girls on '97 team, nothing special about this at all when there are 32 girls on the roster. Most, without outside trainers.

You like the guy and his success with players. Great. Do your thing if it's good for your player. I have seen far better results. Where or who? FC PDX and THUSC coaches often do private training. Same for some LO coaches. A couple of Neon girls have done very well with lessons for young and older players. There are probably many others. Many players go their entire pre-college careers without private coaching. Do what works for you.

This thread is about summer camps, not about private training.

Someone mentions a certain camp, another agrees.

Then, someone asked how they could see this particular persons private sessions (as it was suggested they do so) if they would like to see what it is that he does on a regular basis.

The next person makes the comment "he turns out predictable clones". Why ?? But then it's mentioned that his "clones are pretty top notch" and then ensues the argument.

Why oh why must every thread in this forum turn into an argument ? If you dont have anything good to say, keep it to yourself unless it has something to do with you first hand. If you have not been to one of his camps or training sessions, what gives you the right to comment on anything this person does ? If you have first hand information, then quote specifics.

The poster asked about summer camps. PEOPLE !!!! Why cant they just get a straight answer without all this conjecture ?

Our player trained with him several years ago in a large group setting. At his younger age he was at the time, he was a BIG influence in his development, more so then in later years by other trainers. Paul provided specific drills tailored around ball control, changing direction and quickness of attack. Our family (and player) would highly recommend him (and any camp that he directs or coaches).
