    ODP v. ID2

Which program is better for identifying and recognizing home grown talent? Interested in your personal experience with the two programs or what you've heard. Thanks!

Id2 is brand new in Oregon. They have had only 2 sessions. They don't train or develop any players, play against other groups, so no measurement has been assesselayers no players have left the state for further looks. Your selected by a biased individual.

ODP has been around for 20 years. May not be best tryout/selection process, cream typically rises to the top over time and that's what ODP is about. Finding those players that are the best (over time), train them with others like them, then sending only the best to the next level for further identification by further non-biased trainers.

Players from Oregon have been participating in ID2 prior to this year. It is not the first year. You have no knowledge of ID2 so you should not be offering a judgement.

Did you really say non-biased trainers for ODP? So when a parent of a player is evaluating or a coach is evaluating their own team that's not biased? At least with ID2 there are coaches brought in from outside of Oregon to evaluate. The initial invite might be from your own DOC but after that they have no say in it. Both programs have their good points and bad but both will benefit your player.

They're different - that's the whole point. Not a comparison.

They both offer another solution and/or approach.

They both have pros and cons.

Instead of comparing, you should ask what they both have to offer.

Otherwise you're going to get people get on a soapbox and speak from their own experiences. Since ID2 is new and is different than US National Training Centers, and most people don't even know the difference between these 2, you're not going to get many people in this forum (or none at all) that have actually had any experience with the program. Only 1 kid from Oregon has had the true ID2 experience, the rest just went to a training/scouting session earlier this year run by Hugo Perez and staff (not official).

I don't understand why you're trying to use facts and logic in this forum. ;-)
