Give us a break please. Worst case scenerio is that some teams that wanted to play OPL in the fall will have to wait until the spring. There are other options in the fall like FWRL and friendlies etc.. Please stop trying to stir things up. Everyone knows who is posting this garbage.

Our club is in the same boat. We are South of Salem. I'm trying to find out how this will all play out.

why don't you call the OPL office and hear it straight from them. Then make your decision based on that.

I think that OPL needs to follow their own rules and not allow them to play. The rules are there for a reason even though I hate to see the kids suffer for mistakes made by adults. I do think playing friendlies is better then playing OYSA again. Maybe a partial refund would also be in order for this mistake!

How will the kids suffer? They will still get to play soccer. Maybe not as high of competition but they will still get to play and train.

Wow, little bit of an ego there? I agree that they should not be allowed to participate. Rules are rules and they were clearly stated. Not having CFC in the OPL isn't going to affect anything on the girls side and would only affect 3 age groups on the boys.

Does anyone(besides Keizer soccer club apparently) really care that CFC accidently started their tryouts a day before the OPL start date? As an OYSA club they were going off the OYSA start date and didn't realize that OPL had changed their date. CFC doesn't really compete with Portland clubs for players so the impact was minimal to non-existent. The teams that want to play OPL shouldn't be punished for this minor oversight by the club.

I am from a Portland area club; did CFC take any players from my club by holding tryouts early? NO.

However there are rules in place that are suppose to put everyone on some sort of equal ground. And that means that clubs that are competing for the same kids (CFC and Kaizer) are not given the same chance.

That is where I see the problem being. And for teams (club) that wanted to play OPL then they should have been in contact with them. It is the clubs fault; whether they did it on purpose or not. Again no one else had a problem in holding their tryouts on the correct date. If CFC had respected the rules enough or cared enough to look into it; they would have held their tryouts on the correct date.

Well said and I agree. CFC knew the try out dates and chose to ignore them. Keizer followed the rules and have a right to be upset if CFC is allowed in the OPL.

Rules are there for a reason. If OPL doesn't enforce the rules then they will lose power over their members just like OYSA. CFC and CUSC should pay a fine, no home games, and restrictions on level of play. (Dividson 1)

                            Jim/Andre,

C'mon you guys, first the e-mail to Keizer members with so many grammaticical errors that it sounded like drunken rambling, and now this. Lets see the playing year ends with Summer, Tryouts are for the next fall, what on earth would a partial refund be for?

Is that how KSC justifies their prices going up? We are OPL now, we don't need a home field, parents you will be playing all games on the road, and for that we will charge you more. Sounds a little like the train may have gone off the rails...

Again, doesn't anyone see how ludicrous this is. CFC has had a few teams playing OPL in spring (1 or 2). I would suspect CFC doesn't even receive regular newsletter/mailing type stuff that goes out to "OPL Members". The only reason Keizer is trying to make this an issue is to recruit players to one specifc team, c'mon they only have 3.

OPL will not lose power over their members when a non-member does something outside their rules. Does this mean that OPL will not attempt to draw any new clubs. How can a new club join, when they might have violated the rules.

Your kidding right? Where would you even start to justify fining a club for when tehy had tryouts, but not fining a club with a coach who picks up nine red cards?
