    Cfc ??? Opl

I guess CFC is being forced to the OPL due to lack of leagues in the OYSA. This is good for the OPL there are some good CFC teams that will win the OPL state cup.

There is also a concern for CFC. The OPL will not front CFC money like OYSA did. It would be in the best interest of the OPC eight if CFC went under and only the best players, or players with money continued to play.

Better to have a few players on scholarship then a whole club.

I thought NWCL was decided by how you finish in league? So how would you have underqualified teams traveling?
I believe that is the reason OPL's participation in NWCL was reduced from 4 to 2. Last year with four teams in several cases light was shone on the lack of depth in an age group. This year it should be better. Presumedly OPL has two travel worthy teams per bracket. We will have to wait and see.

        ????

Where do these storylines come from. It sounds like a soap opera writer. I might be more concerned for OPL clubs. When high level opl parents a players see that yes it is possible to play on strong teams, at a community minded club for less than $1,000, that one hour drive south seems awfully short.

What money has OYSA fronted for CFC, and how will the evil OPL force CFC out of business so the OPL can plunder it's players?

It makes you wonder what sort of gas everyone is sniffing.

          Come on

Everyone knows CFC couldn't pay its statecup fees. There was a trade for CFC fields and ODP tryouts. this is common knowledge.

The OPL team would love to play CFC, but if they can't pay the league fees or OPL state cup fees the OPC is not going to write the check.

This just isn't true for CFC but any club. OYSA was pretty good helping clubs during money troubles, even the rich Portland clubs. OPC I don't think is in that business.

I think they went from 6 to 4!

I truly doubt CFC will play OPL's state cup.

It is disappointing how everyone on here seems to have such one-sided (whichever side) views. What could CFC bring to OPL? Would it be valuable to have a more central location where league or large scale play could occur? Several years ago OPL asked CFC to run an OPL south. They declined primarily because the bracket they wanted to compete in was with the northern teams. There is an old adage about the King who clung so tightly to his crown, while all the rest of his treasure was looted from around him.

If you want to get better focus on what everyone Can and Will do rather than Can't and Will not.

That is correct and it opened up spots for Idaho. As far as U13G is going, Oregon is doing well so far. We will see how it goes in Washington in October, but it is looking good at this point.

                  Probably do, but their website sure doesnt say that ;

The difference between local "Premier" Clubs?
Only one will be participating in the Oregon Premier League! United Soccer Association!
With the split between the top Portland Soccer Clubs from Oregon Youth Soccer (OYSA) and forming their own "Premier" league, the "Oregon Premier League" (OPL). The OPL has been so successful and recognized as the top Premier league by area Clubs that OYSA will no longer be offering its Premier League and will now only offer Regional Leagues such as the Mid Valley Soccer League for this Region. And the two local Clubs have made their choices too, United SA has announced it will play its "Premier" teams in OPL Premier Leagues and Cascade FC based on past public declarations and holding tryouts based on OYSA dates (starting May 9th) and prior to the first eligible date for OPL on May 11th (see below), we can only anticipate CFC will be playing in the OYSA Regional Leagues, though you would have to confirm their plans with them, the information was not available on their website.

So do you want to play Premier in a "Premier" league? Tryouts for United SA Premier start May 12th.
WOW! How wrong this guy was! Lets see..U.SA has 3 teams in OPL...two in the 2nd divisions and one in the 1st division. CFC has 4 teams...3 in the 1st divisions and 1 in the premier division. What a joke to post something like he did! How sad if he actually got kids to make a decision based on what he said! Way to go bro!
