    Oysa state cup

What a joke it was today at the OYSA state cup
Field where bad shape. No Turf field
The worst part was the $10 parking fee. Thats an added expense of about $200 per team.
Great Job Mike Morris and OYSA. High state cup fees plus and extra $200 wow

I think the parking fee was to pay for CFC's State cup fees they owed.

Whatever, if your team lost and now you are bitter, find a better way to deal with it. Was it Muddy? Yes it was, it was true spring soccer played on grass. If you find it too hard to pull on some boots, and you can't play anywhere but turf, that limits your options, I'm really sorry for you. Great job yesterday to all the teams who fought through tough conditions and played some great soccer.

Before you get all indignant broaden your perspective a little, in South America, and Africa often the fields where youth play have no grass, world wide a lush green field is something usually reserved for professional clubs. If mud is too much for you to handle, perhaps you should play baseball. They don't even play when it rains...

              Broadened Perspective?

That's a nice try. They don't pay $1000 per kid for club fees, an entry fee for the tournament and then $10 for parking. Here that's called expecting to get what you paid for.

My son played in the OPL State cup on grass fields and they weren't muddy at all. The conditions of the fields were amazing.

I think it is a case where the club is hurting for money. The fields were at one time kept up and beautiful. Now in the summer they are dead and hard. They have drainage problems and in the spring it is a mud hole. It takes money to keep fields up and there is none to do this or has been used for other things.

The fields weren't just muddy...they were down right dangerous. In certain areas you would sink 6 to 8 inches into the mud. This was an irresponsible decision by OYSA to host the games at this complex and just further evidence that Chuck Keers and his Merry Pranksters need to be replaced...including the entire OYSA Board.

I like to see games played on grass. I don't mind mud...or less than perfect conditions. But at the end if the day, I also want to see the games played in a safe environment. I am relieved that know one was seriously injured.

Congratulations to all players and teams OPL and OYSA. Good luck at USYS Regionals and US Club Nationals.

Congrats to all the teams and players. I don't know the OYSA admin and can't defend or hammer them. However, what I do know is that every player I talked with had a great time, even on the losing teams. The only complaints I hear are from the parents, which seems to be the norm. In some places, the mud was poor. In most, it was no worse than what I've seen at virtually every grass field in the Valley when there have been consistent rains. There are exceptions of course, but even at the THUSC complex during last year's finals there were field issues on the grass fields. It happens. No one, and I mean no one, was in any danger. Muddy in parts? Yes. Dangerous? Hell no. And yes, I've been to virtually every grass field that hosts tournaments over the past 10 years and the conditions were simply typical grass fields during this time of the year. If you decide, therefore, that it's better to play on turf (a completely different game), then I won't argue with you. My personal preference would be to have all the kids playing on grass but no big deal either way. However, to suggest these were dangerous conditions for the players is absolutely absurd, which leads me to believe you are one of the many parents of youth soccer players in this state (both OPL and OYSA) who simply love to bitch.

Congrats to all the OPL and OYSA teams and good luck going forward. It will be nice to seem them all playing under one roof at some point.

                        Best fields in the state

What a joke calling that swamp the best fields in the state. Then to charge $10 to park was a real insult. Ask for donations but to shakedown families for $10? Is CFC in that much financial ruin? Hopefully you can sink some money into your fields.

                          Selling cascade fc sports complex

They might be selling the complex because CFC rangers now play at sprague high school. On turf!!

Good post. I, too, would like to see more OPL and OYSA teams on the same pitch in the future.

Did not know that THUSC has a complex. You mean the fields at THPRD? The ones that WSM and THUSC have access to?

Some people might say THUSC does have a complex but it is not fields :)
