Over 7 years of eligibility for ODP through U18 that's an average of 2 ESU Liverpool players on the ODP Squad each year. Hardly significant......unless you need a spin to say its is.

Fact the OYSA is charging the best to play....while their home club suffers not getting paid explains clearly the rationale of why a club like ESU would leave the OYSA....

Please do Oregon ODP it's worth it........
Blah..........Blah................Blah !!!!! You know..........I got a brand new gold plated coffin and some bright red velvet rope. I beat you'd still B!otch if we paid you to kill yourself with it and buried you for FREE. Face facts and live within your financial means. If you cant afford to play, find something cheaper to do with your kids and just stop complaining and blaming others for your troubles.

It would be nice to have a discussion about the US Dev. Academy without ultimately getting into a ******* match about Oregon ODP. Once the Academy is rolling everyone can freak out about that, or not.

The Academy will be an improvement for those who make it. ODP was/is so much more about ID than development (my beef with it). The Academy is about lots of development and less about ID. I think the kids and parents will like that it.

Weekly training for 12 months vs. 10-12 trainings over 5 months should prove itself.

Apples and oranges. The Acadamy replaces the club and can be supplemented by ODP. Yes, I understand many academy coaches don't want the academy kid playing ODP or any other event for that matter, but he can do so, if he wants to represent the state. However, kid can't play FC, Eastside, THUSC, whomever.

Academy players are not allowed to play ODP. They can play High School, but that's it for outside teams.

That is correct, they do not play on their old club teams. The Academy team becomes their new club team. Once on the Academy roster they can only play in Academy approved events, and their old club teams are out.

The Academy game schedule is not rigorous, but will include a lot of travel. I would anticipate the Timbers Academy league to include Seattle MLS, Crossfire, and the northern California Academy teams, including Eathquakes MLS. All league games will be home and home.

There will also be the Academy Winter Showcase in Phoenix in early December (all Academy teams are at this event, and this year there was also a tournament with the u17 National teams of Brazil, Turkey, South Korea, and the U.S.), and the Spring Showcase and Academy playoffs in Frisco, Texas in the end of June (location of this event changes). Qualifying teams from these playoffs meet at the Home Depot Center in L.A. in mid-July for the Academy Finals.
