Adidas F50 adiZero Cracked Sole Plate

Just curious folks--these are $200 boots after all. My son's sole plate cracked after minimal use and I've been reading on soccer.com, soocebible.com and soccercleats101.com about many players with broken stud issues with this shoe. Have any of you experienced similar problems with this otherwise fine performing boot?

My brother was just telling me that this happened to both of his kid's New Nike Vapor Mercurials. He super glued them, but that only held them together for another week. My son bought a new pair of Vapors a month ago and hasn't had a problem yet. I think that they would work fine on grass but the turf field surface just puts too much torque on the joints. My brother finally went back to the traditional, separately molded cleats, which seem to handle the turf better.

The Vapors I was referring to above actually had two of their side cleats snap off. So that is different than the plate cracking.

My son wears the F50 adizero's (the chamelon colored). He hasn't had a problem with them at all. No sole plates cracked or missing studs. I have heard same issues as you have discribed and some of the soccer cleat review websites talk about this.

        Where did you purchase them?
If you bought them from Farpost or Tursi's, maybe they will exchange them. Or go directly to Adidas, maybe they have some sort of replacement policy.

I am currently in communication with Adidas about this issue. E-mails from soccer.com suggest this is quite a widespread problem with many brands' speed boots. They even suggested purchasing them for "games only".

I am just curious how many are not experiencing problems and how many are.

          Thanks for responding.

My son has returned his bright yellow adidas cleats as they lost a stud. Stores should take them back with a receipt and give you replacements. He did return his and now the sole on the bottom has broken after someone stepped on his foot during a game on turf.

DD lost two studs at an away tournament. When we returned I took the cleats right back into tursi's. They gave me a refund and I bought two pairs of the f50 tunits. She's worn tunits for years and never had a problem- but since they were discontinued and Tursis had two pair in her size I got both (for the price of the adizeros) we have one pari with firm studs and of with soft ground studs. She changes shoes depending on the surface.

DS has had no problem with his F50's other than outgrowing them. Maybe your DS is just a brute. Definitely take them back to where you bought them or directly to Adidas.

                  stick with Adidas

Must have been a fluky pair. Don't do anything regretful like switch to "that other brand" :(
