My daughter plays U15, is it OK if I go watch two teams play that we are going to play in the future to get an idea of their strengths and weaknesses?

I'm asking because sometimes she will come with me, other times she will not.

I can appreciate the concern due to the age difference but would like to get your opinions.

Our daughter plays at this age, didnt tryout for ODP and would like to see the pool in action. Does anyone have the training schedule and location ?

Thank you. My daughter tells us all the time when some dads from other teams are at their games and says these guys are creepers. You would think these are normal dads when they are watching their own daughters, but there is nothing normal when they show up at a league game (without their daughter) to watch 13 yr old girls play. Get a life guys.

I call BS to that. I for one will stay at a field that is near our home after our daughter plays to watch other teams that are in our league. I like to see how the competition is doing. Not to mention if I know some of the parents from the other team(s) and stick around just to shoot the bull with them.

The rest of you nay sayers need to get your minds out of the gutters and get your kids some private training. I can tell right away that the negative comments here are coming from parents of players that play at this age and your DD didnt make the cut. Otherwise, youd be proud to show off their abilities and be yelling from the highest peaks the time and dates of their attendance at all ODP activities.

What a perv are. you really writing this? Gross. Sure parents wait after games and check out the competition, but to actively seek out places to watch young girls play soccer is weird. "Be proud to show off your kid?" You are one sick dude.

Watching Practice

Watching another team practice is a bit much. Games is a little more understandable, particularly if visiting with other parents, or your kid comes with you. But practice? It's bad enough to see the hovering parents watching their own kid's practice. Boys or girls. Let the kids play. Go for a run, read a book, go shopping, do something. The team can practice just fine without you watching and your kid doesn't need the pressure of you watching everything s/he does. I'm with those who say that adult men watching girls (not their own kid) practices is creepy.

What the hell does this have to do with self esteem or kids not making the cut? That doesn't make any sense. And no it is not all the same poster because I posted only one.
So hear this loud and clear
If it is hard for you to believe that parents would think that this type of behavior is unusual, then it is YOU that has a very serious problem and you should seek help. AND you are in the minority. Take a look inward. If you are wondering around town watching u13 girls practice that are not your own kid, very good friends, or a team you are thinking of moving to, it is strange behavior. This one is on you. But people like you would not recognize that would you?
