The girls really played their hearts out. For 30 minutes we were #1 (we led CS SlammersFC 1-0 at half!) but they were just too strong. We beat the Colorado (wild card) team 3-2 in a wild game but just didn't have enough left in the tank against an extremely fast Utah team.
Hats off to all who played for, and supported, the Oregon & Washington teams. It was a great journey and one they will all remember for a long time. As a matter of fact, I'm still in Honolulu writing this post!

Good job Sodium girls. It is good to see some of the Oregon team make it to the quarter finals. Would of like to seen more advance further. So I see the girls are doing United Cup tournament, I see they are starting games at 8 am Friday and that is their only game of the day. Must be having a lot of teams there this weekend that is good. Yeah, 9:30 Friday morning. Go figure. Glad I have my office at home and can make it. We play a double-header Saturday. REC Fields should be packed. Hope the new Sodium team can come together. We had a few key players move away and opt not to play this year to rest injuries. Should be interesting, new coach, several new players. I just hope they can gel quickly. The core players will need to bring the new girls up to speed quickly. I watched them play a few games before leaving and the new "Rookies" are pretty impressive. Only time will tell though. About Regionals, man, the Cali teams are tough. Come at you early and often. The other Oregon team from our club, Neon, made it to the Quarters. Met a very impressive Idaho team and lost 1-0. The Idaho girls were physical and had great ball handlers. Honestly, the Neon defense really stepped up. Could have been a lot worse.
