That was exactly my next question; during the check in, wouldn't the ref have brought up the fact that the roster listed 18 and there were 19 players?

The ref probably thought the 19th player on the bench was injured and just supporting the team. When she got up to get in the game is when it became a problem. I don't see why on earth the coach would allow a player to play who wasn't in the ref line up before the game.

        Thanks for all the help.

Does player #19 really help the team that much?? For pete sake. Not sure I really get this at all. DUMB

Actually no. A forfeit means you loose to the other team 1 to 0, any goals you HAD scored you loose credit for and will not count in your goal differential in the standings, which could be important in determining a tie breaker for league play.

I don't think it's about who helped the team or scored the goal. It's about following simple rules.

That is actually my point....player 19 doesn't even change the game, so under any circumstances, even the "we want to win at all costs idea..." it was just dumb to not obey the rule. On your side settle down

                  curious

Does anyone know the rule for NWCL qualification if there is a Washington team in the bracket? In looking at the spread sheet on counting and non-counting games the games against Washington teams are not listed as non- counting. I know not every bracket has this issue, but there are a few.

Will Pacific Fire and SC Nemesis get a chance to represent at all in the NWCL? I would assume they would have to be on the Washington side if they did.

I'm guessing the games against the Washington teams do count because everyone has to play them so it won't really make a difference.

That makes sense, but then their ranking doesn't matter I guess.

I don't know for certain, but am just thinking out loud here. This is the NW champions league. Teams qualifying are top teams in OPL (in Oregon) and RCL (in Washington). These are leagues, not states so I see no reason a WA team playing in OPL shouldn't qualify. The NW champions league should bring in the best teams from each league regardless of state to have the best competition possible. For example, Nemesis 98 should represent OPL next year for NWCL as they are far and away one of the top 6 teams at Girls U12. To not have them participate would be ridiculous, and yes I am from a qualifying OPL Oregon team at this level.

I agree that Nemesis and Pacific Fire should be allowed to participate if they finish in the top 6. We want the best teams there so we can have the best competition.

I think you may have been a bit overly dramatic by saying it would be ridiculous to NOT have Nemesis 98 there. They're a good little team and will probably finish in around 4th-5th so I'm sure they'll make it next year.
