I am not a parent of either club but have a question about this situation;
If the rule states:
"c. Team rosters are permitted up to 26 players. Match day rosters are limited to 18 players. Any team using an ineligible player shall forfeit all games in which that player participated."
So does that mean they forfeit if their roster has 19 players regardless of how many played? Or if they actually PLAYED 19 players? Or did they have 18 rostered players and 19 on the bench? (or played 19?) Or does it mean regardless of how many players showed up and actually played that day(15, 16, 17), if they had 19 on the roster they forfeit?
Let's face it, not everyone on the roster makes it to the game 100% of the time. When do they submit a "Match day roster?"
Is it really this vague or am I reading WAY too much into this?

I think it is unlikely they cheated as I doubt player #19 had any impact on that game. My guess is it is a costly error. But rules are rules and I agree they need to be followeed. When you are juggling that many players it is probably hard to keep it all straight.

And yes, the post DOES raise a good point because anyone who has ever read threads on here would not put it past ANY teams parents. Not ESUFC, THUSC, LO, FC or any club. Sorry, but that's just the way it is.

The ref submitted his recommedation of a forfeit to OPL. ESUFC never entered the conversaion. Rules are there for a reason and there is no reason for a coach at that level to not be aware of them.

Sorry to ask so many questions but I'm just trying to understand the rules and how they apply so I can make intelligent sideline conversation and not look like an idiot. lol!

Other than counting heads on the bench, how would the ref have known? What happens if the coach submits an 18 player roster and then has 19 on the bench? Is it up to the ref to keep track?

Simple fact is the rule is easy to follow. The coach should of known the rule and should of obeyed it. I doubt that they were trying to cheat but THUSC needs to forfeit. That's the problem with having more than 18 on your team.
