    SSC and humble Pie

    Enjoying their humble pie ?

After a stretch of some 10 matches where they were outscored some 19 to 1 SSC should be very familiar with the taste of humble pie.....So they win a couple of OPL matches and they are back on top of the world.....Please keep posting about what an awesome Team SSC is..Please....The harder the dive that SSC has to make to eat humble pie the more all of us enjoy watching you eat it!!!

All of U13G Oregon teams will eat humble pie in the next few weeks when you play the Washington teams. I can not understand why you guys are ripping into fellow teams in the OPL league. No one is going to win the U13 girl's world cup this year. We just have a few big fish in a very small pond. Stop living your lives through these poor children! yes, they are just children. By the way, I don't see one D1 scholarship out of this group for soccer.
Not due to of lack of talent, but these girls will give up this sport because of these immuture parents. Must had a lot of issues as children!!! STOP THIS NON-SENSE, PLEASE!

                      Scores

Well, I have to give OYSA kudos for one thing; at least they have all of their scores reported through the 19th.

I know that OPL has the home manager responsible for reporting the scores. Everything else has gone very smoothly for OPL. However, they need to get on the managers and provide a deadline for the scores to be posted. There is absolutely no reason any game should not be reported by the evening of the game. For example:

U12 Boys Premier: 5 out of 7 games from this weekend remain unreported.

U12 Girls Premier: 8 out of 13 games from this weekend remain unreported.

It is often the same teams that fail to report the scores in a reasonable amount of time. It just looks bad for the league to not have the scores posted in a timely manner.

How does it look bad for the league? How is the league supposed to control when managers or coaches report scores? You can put a deadline on it, but what would be the punishment for not meeting the deadline? It reflects poorly on the team not reporting, sure...but I'm unclear how this is a poor reflection of the league.

Didn't the league create the structure for reporting the scores? If it is not working it falls on the league to fix it. If it can be done by them, why can't it be done by you?

I have to disagree. How does OYSA control the reporting? Do they have a deadline? Or do they have the referees report the scores? Either way they have it done more promptly.

Does it reflect poorly on the teams not reporting, yes. But OPL can't wash their hands of it, or the appearance is they don't have any control over their member teams/clubs. It reflects as poor administration and management of member clubs/teams. I am with an OPL club and was looking forward to better and more timely scores. Last season there was not even standings and scores were on a spreadsheet. Many of the scores were never even reported.

It is far better, but the problems need to be addressed. These are the little things that OYSA supporters will point to as failures of OPL. Address the problem now and remedy the situation; this will reflect postively on the league.

Scores took forever to get updated last year with OYSA with the same teams involved...there's not a lot the OPL can do to control this. I am frustrated sometimes, too. But then I remember that it's youth soccer and ask myself why I really care what the score was of another game besides my kid's. Why don't you come up with an appropriate punishment for teams that do not meet the score reporting deadline. Then take it to the OPL. I'm sure they would appreciate the feedback.

Allow team managers from either team to report the scores. Increases the odds by 2x.
