Yes they can and nearly all our summer tourneys are co-sanctioned USYSA and US Club.

      Insurance not an issue

I love it. Come up with an idea to crown a real champion and someone right away says WAIT can't do it for insurance reasons.

Not a problem the insurance can be delt with, and is delt with all the time.

Come on it is a great idea, someone take the idea and run with it.

Here is the reason it won't work. You really think if someone fronted the money for the fields and refs all the OYSA would accept the invite? Heck no. A few yes, but after a year of playing no one it would be tough to get up for a big game against an opl club that has 18 or so top level games under their belt.

WOW, not only have you been drinking too much of the kool-aid, you must have almost been nursed off of it. At almost all age levels, and sexes the split between OPL and OYSA left some strong teams, and some weak teams on both sides. I know I probably just invited everyone to challenge this by offering their favorite team, and why "if they had just had..."they would have been competitive.

Making it simple there is a split on both sides. To suggest every game played will be top level is just delusional. There will be some strong teams in each gold bracket, there will be some weak ones. I am also kind of puzzled by the statement "it would be tough to get up for a game with a club that has 18 games under their belt." Not wanting to be accused of baiting anyone, I will assume the poster meant to talk about a team, not a club.

Someone should host a one day tournament and invite the OYSA and OPL champs. Cost: field cost plus refs and nice trophy for the winner.

It would be a good warm up game for regional’s or whatever
It could happen... However it would be interesting to see if the DOC's on either side would allow it, for fear of being exposed as the weaker side. It would also be interesting to see after the game how long it would take before all the excuses began to fly.

Having consistently beaten all teams on both sides, it ain't no concern here...

            It is possible.

Last weekend, CFC B14 Boca Juniors (oysa champs) and Eastside U14 Barcelona (OPL Champs) played a friendly match. Both sides played hard and it was an excellent game. There was
Camraderie among the fans, all the stuff youth sports is supposed to be about.

For all the naysayers saying it can't be done, here is proof to the contrary.
