Congrats to Crush. They played hard and for a complete actual rostered team they were truly the victors. They don't and didn't need to borrow anyone to beat all others that delivered the same at each match. Too bad WSM couldn't do the same.

Win at all costs must be their motto.

Can't say how the game would have turned out had their center D been there and not on holiday and the lil U12 girl that normally plays up front would have been in her position.

Usoniums played a great game with notable help from the two Timbers girls and the Rage girl. If they roster them, then more power to them for their win today. If they don't, then fine job for stacking the team for the tourney win with three ODP players.

Stacking the team with three ODP players (Overrated Delusional Players) and they can only win by 1, explain this. LO has an ODP player and they can't beat the good teams. Where are the other ODP'ers?

          Sound better this way:

WSM Usoniums borrowed 2 of Columbia Timbers better players and TM Rage's BEST player (making their roster 18) to off set all their weaknesses to overcome the Crush in a 2-1 victory all the while Crush missing their starting center back (2 subs) and being filled in with one of their better forwards (U12).

Kind of a hollow victory if u ask me.

What ever happened to losing gracefully? How can we teach our children to behave if we as parents aren't able to show by example? Shame!

Loosing to a better team is one thing, but for the other team stooping to load their roster with better borrowed ( from other clubs ) players just to win is another. I think that the Crush showed the best sportsmanship in the end. They too could have done the same, but what would that prove (or set as an example) to their players ?

What kind of message does it send to the players that tried out, paid their tuition and have been to every practice so far ? Your position is never safe if the club wants to win.

If you don't agree, then I can guess which club your from.

                Pick up players

I am surprised the Rage let their only good player guest play again. They would completely lost without her.

I'm a little confused by this. I don't have a son or daughter in this age bracket but this post is odd to me. You mean to tell me the coach would think; "Well let's see, I need 3 players. Nope, not you, you're ODP. Nope, we've played you, you're too good. Aren't there any 'B' or rec players I can get?"

Of course he's going to look for equal or better players. Sounds like the excuse train is rolling out of the station to me.

                  Just my .02

Having 3 ODP players means nothing at the U13G age group. The '97's were so weak that being ODP is meaningless.

She played the last 10 minutes. Crush just needs to keep telling themselves they are a good team so someone will believe it. Usonians had 6 starters that sat then entire first half and Westside dominated the first half without them. Crush is weak in the midfield and when you have to put your best player playing right back to keep the ball out of the net its not a good sign for this team. If you can still say your the best with 2 really good players then so be it.

                        OPL & State Champs

Well, people can say what they want, but Crush is the current state champs. Until somebody else wins the OPL Cup and the State Cup, you really should stop talking.

Hard to argue that fact.....it also shouldn't be all that confusing to anybody reading this.

                          Chinook Cup

I thought this thread was about the Chinook Cup, not the OPL and State Cup.
Be that as it may, I do not see SSC losing to any other Oregon Teams any time soon. SSC and the Usonians are far and away the two best teams at U13.

                            Top U13 teams

Well, Usonians will probably stick around the top of U13, as they will continue to build out their roster over the next few months. Crush on the other hand will fall back to the middle of the pack, as their roster goes the other direction. Goalie is gone, now the defender/mid-fielder is moving, and rumor around Chinook Cup is that the little U12 girl is dropping from Crush as well. Goalie isn't a big loss, but the other two will hurt pretty bad. Hope the 'farm team' (Aftershock) has some players ready or the coach is a good recruiter.

As a Westide parent just wanted SSC know that your tournament at the U-13 girls level was very well run this year. Good fields, good competition and everything was very organized. Thanks again

Why did the tourney allow the Rage player to play? She wasn't rostered and only played in the last game according to the SSC team. She is a good player, don't get me wrong, but seems Usonians were doing well with their 2 borrowed, very good players from the Timbers.

Stooping low? From a team who claims they are comparable to U14 Gold teams, I'd say so. Borrowing a player that hasn't played in the whole tournament just for the final game, to win, isn't usually considered fair play.
