What clubs in SW WA and OR offer fitness training

Reading the other post about how much play time for your kid got me thinking about fitness training. I know some clubs have one extra practice a week that works on nothing but fitness, conditioning and endurance training. I know that Oregon's most hated club offers fitness every wednesday night. What do most other clubs offer? Kickinballz

Thats funny about most oregons hated club.LOL Rumor is that is fitness night is why that club is so succesful. With extra training they just outlast other oppenents. This might sound crazy I think they had either a Ex Army Ranger or Navy Seal training them at one time.

Mike Ford is the fitness instructor at Thusc and yes he is an ex-navy seal. He is fantastic and works the kids hard.

I know most clubs in Southern Cal on the boys side have 2 regular practices and 2 cross training a week. We were surprised to find out that most clubs in SW Washington do not offer these types of training.

          And it shows.

The "Oregon's most hated club" comment is a little out of line don't you think?

When choosing a club we asked if the club offered a fitness training and most said no so we went to the club that did and it was the best decision ever. Talk about kids that work hard and never give up, my daughter is in the shape of her life and usually plays all game and it doesn't bother her. It really shows on the field the fitness level and especially when you have a tournament with 5 games they are still strong at the end.

It is unfortunate you felt comment was out of line. If I had named the club by name everyone would start bashing them and take it as my club is better then your club attitude. My view is that it is another 50-60 hours of conditioning is good training.

So back at the original question what do your Clubs offer???????

So what would have been wrong with; "A certain club in Portland I know offers fitness every Wednesday night." and everyone would have known exactly who you were referring to. Why do people always get so negative?

Anyway, yes, Mike Ford works the kids hard every Wednesday night for a couple hours. Normal practices for us begin with distance runs then consists of drills, skills training, situations and then sprints.

                Hope that answers the question.

I like the idea of distance runs, etc but it would depend on how much time that was taking up. I think it is great to run 4-6 laps before practice to warm-up but I wouldn't want fitness interferring with my childs practice too much. Having a dedicated day for fitness is a much better idea.

We do devote an entire day to fitness. I was just describing a normal practice.

SSC Crush was conditioning every Monday for 1.5 hours, but now have increased their twice weekly team training to include 30 minutes of both long and short distance running.

So is SSC do this for all teams or is Crush just doing this on there own.

So as a parent of the SSC Crush , do you feel this has contributed or help contribute to your teams success?

                              SSC Success

I believe in their last 7 matches, which they have all lost, they have been outscored in the range of 17 to 1.
