Anyone know whats happening with this club? Seems like they have only 2-3 teams now. Will their U17 or U18 teams form this summer? Does Corvallis or Salem have another club option for high school girls?

I would suggest contacting FCW via email if you are truly interested. Tom Rowney likes to keep numbers small so he can keep quality high. Also. his numbers at the youngest ages have also been hit hard by EMFC. This may not be a "big" club, but it certainly has produced many excellent players and teams over the years. The results speak for themselves.

Time will tell. If EMFC is getting most of the players than they need to start producing players and winning some premier league titles. Just having a lot of kids doesn't make a club good. Remember that EMFC is basically OUSA with a different kit, so that group of coaches has had a cycle (u11--u18) with no titles so far. FCW may be small, but they have won a State Cup recently.

Disagree with
the following quote:
"Yep. Results speak for themselves. FC Willamette used to be a top girls club and now barely exists. Wish Rowney would get it together again. Corvallis club soccer is a mess."
FCW Pride (91 girls) were repeatedly state semi-finalists and showed very, very well at out of state tournaments like Nomads, the Pleasanton Rage and the Tacoma Showcase, among others. They have girls playing college soccer at U of O, Stanford, OIT, Humboldt State, Chico, University of San Diego, and more. This was a team that Rowney hand-picked and developed over a 5-7 year period.
Similar success for FC Willamette Possession (U16). State champs in 2008, repeat state semi-finalists, multiple ODP players on this team, just came back from the Pleasanton Rage having finished first out of the 16 U16 teams in the top bracket. They have the same coach, Robert Allan, that coached Pride for a number of years.
The club may not have many numbers but the kids they have are dedicated soccer players who have developed and will continue to have success. Unless a kid has a parent who is willing to drive them to Portland every week to train and compete with the other top 4 clubs (LO, THUSC and FC PDX) FCW is a great option in the Willamette Valley- at least at certain age levels.
EMFC is also a great Eugene area club with several teams that do very, very well in Oregon and elsewhere (e.g, Magic and Spirit).
FCW is having tryouts on August 8th and 9th (check their website for details) and I know Possession would love to pick up a couple of new local (Corvallis, Eugene, Medford- lol) girls. I imagine EMFC will be having tryouts soon as well.

Its Ireland
The team that the former Possession player is going to is Ireland. She was an awesome player for Possession and she will be missed, but it should be noted that the team has- and hopefully will continue to- step up and succeed without her (2nd of 12 teams for total points in the Tacoma Showcase and tied for 1st of 16 teams in the Pleasanton Rage). Sometimes losing the star player on a team can lead to other kids learning to shine.
