    National Champions

ESUFC Liverpool Red won Nationals today, 1-0 over Shattuck-St. Marys from Minnesota. This is an amazing achievement for ESUFC and the Oregon. They are only the second team from Oregon to win it. The only other being FC PDX in '94. What amazes me is the the leading scorer in the tournament was Mikhail Doholis with 3 goals including the only goal in the final, even though he is playing up two age groups.

    Game 1
    0-1 lose to Shattuck-St. Marys
    Game 2
3-1 win over 91 TUSA Gold (NC)
    Game 3
3-0 win over YMS Xplosion (PA-E)
    Final
    1-0 win over Shattuck-St. Marys

Congratulations to those boys and their coaches in all their hardwork.

Congrats to Oregon, ESUFC Liverpool Red Players and especially Mikhail for his personal achievements.

In so many ways Im personally proud of their success and then in others it's a tragic sadness that they wont ever get to defend their title.

Tell me again how this division of sorts is going to benefit the players in our state ?

Sorry, I'm not in favor of the split but I just had to laugh at the "tragic sadness" reference. I'm sure they will find something fulfilling to do if they even stay together for another year.

Even though I am not an ESUFC Parent...

Even though I am not an ESU parent, this is an amazing feat for any Oregon Team. Congrats, we are proud to know you came from the West! :) Lets hope we can send more in the future! (I don't want any OPL crap on here, just appreciate what these young men have done please!)

Maybe THUSC's coaches could have a meeting with Liverpools coach to learn a thing or two about recruiting the top players from Washington and Oregon

                      Simple motivation for recruiting

ESU liverpool has a parent coach...this parent/dad/coach is the best recruiter in the region motivated by doing what's in his son's best interest. THUSC doesn't have this angle, yet...meeting adjourned.

I am not with ESU but I do have a friend whose son was recruited from WA. the benefit of what this coach/recruiter did stretches much farther than his own son. Their were a whole team of boys who had a great once in a lifetime experience. As more teams reach this pinnacle Oregon soccer gets better, more respect, college recruiting inmproves and everyone benefits! If you cant celebrate with them then be angry that under the current system this is the only to get it done!
