    Oregon ODP in Texas

The Oregon G95 lost a heart breaker in Texas today to the North Texas G95 1-0. The goal was an own goal on Oregon. The girls battled major heat and humidity.

    Great job Oregon

Not sure of the G96 score.

Sounds like they hung in there, I think the best defenders declined to make the trip or had other commitments. I also heard they scraped the bottom of the barrel to put a team together for this trip. Please correct me if my information was wrong. When you get you info from kids it is always 1/2 correct.

Not missing any defenders i believe. A couple are dinged up. They are missing their two forwards.

I will forward your positive vibes to the team.

      Go Oregon!

        OR 96 team lost 2-0.

Though they played well according to what the coach said to the girls.

I know that they are missing 4-5 starters so i am sure that wasn't easy to handle.

The Oregon G95 fell to the Oklahoma 94's this morning 2-0. The word is the heat is HOT. The girls are watching World Cup before they play the Oklahoma 94's this afternoon.

The 36 hours of soccer continued this afternoon with the G95's defeating the Oklahoma G95's 3-1. Moe scored two and Jesse had 1. The girls battled 100 degree heat to bring home this victory.

Tomorrow looks daunting with a match-up against the Region III ODP champs the North Texas 94's.

No word on the 96's that I have heard.

                    96's went 2&2.

                    They beat OK 95's 1-0 and Texas 95's 2-1

They lost 2-0 and 2-1 to Texas 96's.

                          Bummer!

It sounds like the heat was really a factor for the 95s. Any other observations from the weekend that you care to share?

IMHO- The heat was a major factor, but not an excuse. From what I was told the girls played pretty good. There were a few players that played for the first time at this level. The missing two forwards probably hurt also.

All in all, my DD enjoyed the weekend and felt she did well.

I think the heat can be an excuse, especially coming from the NW. Teams that play regularly in this type of heat have a definite advantage. My daughter still hasn't adjusted to playing in the summer here and it's been 2 years. The Challenge tournament was on a particularly hot and humid weekend as well. We played the weekend before and it was horrible.
