Ugly Soccer

U15G final game was ugly soccer as was the u12g and u13g. Nothing but boot ball and bad touches. FC was lucky to get into overtime ans Ireland just as lucky to get into pks.

If I was an Ireland parent I would want some coaching change because frankly this team has not improved over the last two years

How often do semis and Finals at any age and level (club. college or professional) live up to expectation?!

With kids, which these girls are, there are a lot of nerves. So sometimes the fluid and flowing soccer teams may otherwise produce doesn't happen. I think a good example of this is OR Rush in their semi and final game against FC and WSM. They still won the Final and move on.

I left when the score was 2-0 to Ireland. Both of their goals came from good soccer and i was near a college coach who i heard say that were playing some great soccer in that first half.

Everyone has their opinions but sometimes you should remember that results are more important than performance in big games.

Well that means that my daughters team has not improved over the last 2 years because Ireland has won State twice with their current coach during that time. I know that my daughters team has indeed got much better but we have still not been able to take the title of State Champs from Ireland.

You don't see our team parents demanding a new coach for us and we haven't had the same success.

Just joking. If your measure of improvement is beating the "top dog" then you are sadly mistaken. Is your daughter technical abilities improving ? Is she reading the game better? Is her soccer iq increasing? Those are measures of improvent. Too much emphasis is put on winning as a measure of success , all part of our quick gratification mentality as a society. What?????

I saw the first half and part of the second half along with the overtime. Ireland dominated so thoroughly in the first half that I left to watch other games. FC obviously came back in the second half that I did not see. Overtime edge went to Ireland. Even Marine parents thought the first half was all Ireland. So, when someone posts that Marine played well, the 90% reference, that's simply not true. Didn't see the banner, maybe it was simply a motivational ploy. Its for the team, not the spectators.

Wow, this forum really is full of whiners. It's like people have nothing else to do but to find things to complain about. Why don't you email the NBA teams who put on the Western Conference Championships hat right after winning? I mean how dare they!!

These are 14-15 year old girls. If they wanted to make a banner in case they won then let them. The banner turned out to be accurate so I see no problem with them brining it out. If you're going to complain about something then at least make it worth it.

This forum use to be great. There was a great group of people who had accounts, discussed good topics, congratulated each other on great wins and good play and everyone knew who everyone was. There was hardly ever any garbage. Now, everyone can just be anonymous and post whatever drivel they want. Most of those great posters who made this forum pretty terrific are now gone. Whoever runs this website should take a look at the Washington website because it's fantastic. But then again, they have people who care and enjoy rather than those who simply want to rag on those at the top.
