That's 7 teams from around the state (not Portland). Pretty good.

So EMFC is too good to play with the non-OPL teams yet don't even have one team good enough to play in a final? I see Rush(Bend) with three, CFC(Salem) with two, VFC(Corvallis) with one and RVSC(Medford) with one. That looks like pretty good competition for EMFC.

First off, you're just being a jerk (ie no one said "EMFC is too good..." for anything). Second, EMFC is a relatively new club but has grown quickly. They had several teams that made it to the quarterfinals and beyond. None made it to the finals but I know of at least one that was very close (lost in OT in semi's). I think you will see more competitive teams from them as they improve the development of young players in the area (which was done poorly before the club was formed). Now continue trying to find a negative spin on things...

If VFC and CFC had teams in most age and gender groups, then EMFC probably would look seriously at staying in OYSA. But they don't. That leaves Oregon Rush, which plans to play FWRL in the older age groups, and RVSC, which is 3plus hours away. Seriously doubt this was an easy decision for Eugene, and definitely doubt they think they are "too good" to play with OYSA. If Eugene had a choice, it would probably play some teams with OPL and others with OYSA. Thanks to OPL "encouragement" tactics, they can't. Tough deal for Eugene.

Please remember Eugene's former club "MUSA" developed players pretty well under Fraser, and almost all EMFC coaches are former MUSA coaches including the DOC. I remember multiple state titles for the girls "Navy" and the boys "Black". In fact the EMFC "Select" squad is full of MUSA grads. Though I am sure in the future they probably will, the jury is still out on when EMFC can develop players in the older age groups as well as MUSA did.
