State Cup When teams come to play. My thoughts Possession and Marine team play for the State Cup title. Possession will win their bracket still, but the Marine team will play Ireland in the semi's. The defending champs will lose in close hard fought game, but the Marine team will prevail. Possession will win in overtime in the Semis.

marine could clench their bracket though. all they need is for eastside to atleast tie possession (sunderland needs a win to move on so extra motivation) and with a win over westside, the marine girls could finish first in pool play.

I would love to see Ireland and Marine in the final. Great game for sure!

I view the Ireland and Marine teams as the two top teams in state. Either one of these teams would be deserving to be named the state champs.

May 2nd

Sunday May 2nd 10am at THRC- Should be a lot of talent on the field with all 4 teams playing. Ireland is loaded with great talent and Possession has some real quality girls who can surprise any team on a given day. I look for a close game for the first half but at the end of the day Ireland has too much depth and should pull away in the 2nd half. If Possession can get its quick strike offense in gear early it might be a good one. Both teams have excellent speed and play extremely hard for their coaches.

all the hype is on the ireland-possession semi (should be a great game to watch)

but,
what are your thoughts on the other semi? its between marine and either rush or l.o. depending on how the game between the two goes this weekend. rush needs a win to move on, l.o. needs a win or tie.

Ireland has the better game. I was really surprised to see FCW playing the long ball as much as they do. I just don't see Ireland losing this game. Just my opinion though.

did you see FCW playing the long ball? There have been a number of times this season, depending upon the opponent, weather conditions, etc. My guess is that the coach is trying to capitalize on the speed up front.

Possession has done much more of the long ball than our older daughter's FCW team ever did. Used to be that FCW was known for their technical skills and short crisp passes and overlap plays, but I guess ya gotta use what ya got....

mid play the key

The key to this game will be mid play. Can Possession mid play match up with Irelands that is the question? My guess it might be difficult for them. Both teams have great speed up front but the mid field play will determine which front line gots more opportunities and thus the win.
