    Futsal vs Indoor

This time of year always seems to bring about the debate; "Which is better for the development of the players, Futsal or Indoor"

Anyone care to chime in with thoughts on the subject? What has been your experience? Which do the players prefer and why? Do particular age brackets prefer one over the other?

Our team has always played indoor and is considering Futsal this year. It would be great to get others opinions on this.

    Thanks.

    Cheers! :)

Futsal, in my opinion, is better overall starting with the outbounds, need for better footskills and need to be able to make passes in smaller area (think chess needing to see the next 2 or more moves ahead). I think Indoor is much like hockey (minus checking) it helps with conditioning but does not add much more value as futsal does.

Our team plays futsal. The players love it. They feel it really helps their game.

I agree with the above comments. Indooor is fun but futsal requires players to use skill and thought.

Thanks for the posts. I am also researching venues, like Portland Futsal for example. Is there a venue that is preferred over others? I'm sure this is true of the majority, but week nights at 4:30 are killers! I'd like to avoid that again this year if at all possible.

Sorry for all the questions but I've never done Futsal before and if we have a good response from the players/coaches we would continue it moving forward.

        Thanks and cheers! :)

My daughters team plays at Portland Futsal. They play Sat or Sun afternoon/evening. Great fields for futsal and fairly good competition. We have played up a year just to get better competition. The girls love it!

Futsal is a lot faster paced game, closer contacts. The player is forced to either make fast one touch passes or to use foot skills.
