OYSA was going to take the top 6 teams from the Gold Bracket and leave them in the Gold Bracket the next year. Then the bottom 2 teams from Gold would play the top 2 in Silver and who ended up being the top 2 would be in Gold and the other 2 teams would be in Silver. If they had done that then Sodium would be in Gold. So how ever OYSA decide to do brackets not everyone will be happy.

The reality here is that none of the people posting here lose out on anything. The ones who lose out in this situation are the girls at this age group all around.
WHO LOSES?
Sodium girls lose, as either way they are pegged as the bad ones here, even though they likely would have qualified into Gold anyways....... Can anyone really deny that???
All the other gold team girls lose, as they now miss out on the opportunity of playing a quality team in the Sodium if they are not in Gold. While I personally am not fond of their style of play, you can't deny they get the job done the majority of the time and are still play a better style than other Gold teams that did qualify.
Really you could state a case for all the divisions as in all reality one team at each division qualified higher than they probably would have had Sodium stayed local and did the PQT tournament.
In the end though again, WHO LOSES?
The girls............The players..............Not the parents, Not the coaches, not the clubs or OYSA........ so lets not get caught up in all these negative comments, be it on a blog or fourm postings, keep it all positive.
Did we forget what this is all about...... It is about the girls, and there development as players and as young adults.
I would think this wouldn't apply to the team as the team chose their "fate" on the players on how you say they lost out.
I also can appreciate your oppinion that you don't like the style of the team, but you say it in a non threatening nasty tone.
I can say there were so many people that hated LOSC Extreme for their style of play too, me for one but I also commended them for also getting the job done.
What is that saying that is so famous?

Previous quote:
"Goalie? Recruitment? My only guess would be this used to be your goalie and you are upset she left the team? I don't get it. If you are so bold in telling the remarks, please let the entire unregistered, lurkers aware of what is really at issue. If you know so much about this accusation, post away. I am now curious."
This quote is from my previous post. The girl did not use to be my goalie. I am not from her original club. To satisfy your curiousity, you need to look at your own parents and who they know. Some people they tell may have morals.

Curiosity is for the other parents. Would assume the one's on the team already know about it. The other parents from the other clubs want to know. You let half the cat out the bag. The other half of the cat is just hanging in the wind.

Going to pick on one team for a moment to prove point. THUSC Ireland went to Surf Cup. Many of you have made reference to "top name" tournaments. They played 3 games and came home. Even though each game ended in a tie Sydeline pointed out that the first two teams ranking order. Of course there were quarters and so on, but you must win your bracket to continue forward. Sydeline commented on the last game played was a "very good team".
I wonder if Ireland felt it was a waste to go spending all that money for just 3 games. I am sure they knew the drill of having to win your bracket to play on.
Sodium played against top level teams. Two of those teams were ranked very high, along with winning state. The other team would have been a "very good team" comment.
Looks to me the same. Shall we now pick on Ireland and rake them thru to coals of how ridiculous it was to attend such a tournament for only 3 games?!?

You dont know me!
I love the debate
I have followed the blogs and postings since I first heard about it two years ago. I am glad to see more discussion about my daughters age group now U14 and this is my second posting the first was yesterday . . . "I think each case should be based on its own merits". I dont even mind the negative comments it really only detracts from the posters point. My daughter was with a team that saw one of the Sodium blogs and it inspired them to one of their better games and a win. The girls talked about it and none of the players were hurt or offended; only some of the parents had a problem with it. I am not aware of Sodium recruiting except what I have heard from Extreme parents, each year my daughter has been recruited by premeir teams other than Sodium and I know others have too, this is not new. I hope the discussion continues and OYSA makes their decision based on what is best for the girls and the organization.

Just want to say congrats to THUSC for getting into gold. My daughter is on an opposing team in the U14 gold division. We enjoy the competition from Sodium and all of the other gold teams. Congrats to all! Let's have a fun season.
