One of my greatest fears of a Donald Trump presidency was that someday we'd have a real crisis, when we'd need to trust our leader for accurate and timely information, and we'd be stuck with a guy who nobody can trust or believe.

Getting tested solidifies that you need to isolate yourself and that others you have been in close contact with (especially your family members) need to do the same. If you are in at risk group your doctor needs to know in case you need treatments a healthier patient might not. The PM of Canada's wife tested positive and now the whole family is hunkered down, but Trudeau isolated himself as soon as she started feeling sick.
