One would think that a person claiming to have Mensa-level intelligence would know better than to compare Coronavirus deaths over a few weeks to seasonal flu deaths over an entire year.

Seasonal flu has killed up to 45,000 in the US over the last 4.5 months. We are 1.5 months into Coronavirus and the death rate is < 15. Compare that to the H1N1 outbreak that killed an average of 1003 people per month. Yep, Trump is blowing this one.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that swine flu infected nearly 61 million people in the United States and caused 12,469 deaths. Worldwide, up to "575,400" people died from pandemic swine flu.

Your post shows that you don't understand what a death rate is. A death rate, or more accurately a mortality rate, is the number of death divided by the number of cases. Using the data that you posted above, the mortality rate would be about 3.4%. Using your swine flu example above gives a mortality rate of about 0.02%. The CDC has estimated that there have been between 32 & 45 million flu illnesses between October 1, 2019 & February 22, 2020 with anywhere between 18,000 & 46,000 resulting deaths. Thus, the mortality rate is anywhere from 0.04% to 0.14%. So, yeah, the coronavirus is far deadlier than the swine flu or the seasonal flu.
