i don't think anyone but the extreme left is for "open borders." most of us that strongly disagree with the president on immigration agree that deportations have to take place and in large numbers sometimes. the main difference is the change in policy and tone w/ this administration that criminalizes immigration, associates national security with immigration policy, and considers people looking for a better life as invaders. this is neither american nor christian and it's shocking that so many would march for the rights of the unborn on religious grounds but react cynically to a picture of a tragically drowned father and child.

maybe asylum laws need to change. until then, those that arrive need to be processed humanely. it is a humanitarian crisis. the roots of the problem are in the country of origin. many of these countries we have destabilized over the years. money is better spent at the root of the problem, than always trying to control the symptom.
