2018 Final CFP College Football Playoff Ranking UCF 8 UF 10
The AP poll and Coaches poll had UCF ahead of UF the entire 2018 season up until the final week.

UCF got there a55 beat by LSU if I remember correctly. UF pounded on Michigan. What were the rankings after those games?????

Just FYI...it’s pretty widely accepted that some state universities basically desciminate against kids that have Florida PrePaid program. Why? They get less money from that student.

There is a box to check on the application whether or not you have Florida prepaid and if you do. UF will make it more difficult for that student to be accepted.

Those with the very highest marks will not be discriminated against as much. But when it comes to the next group below the computer will start to crunch which students could be worth more money over four years of undergraduate study. Florida pre paid and Bright Futures don't pay back as much to the university. Out of state tuition brings a lot more money. Also the computer knows how many dual enrollment and AP classes the students have taken. That could mean one less year those students will be at the university. But of course the top top top students with scores are taken because it would look bad if they were not admitted. However with holistic admissions these days it is important to grab those first generation, lower income students and diverse students to keep those statistics looking correct to maintain being a pre-eminent university to receive more state funding and being ranked higher.

UF was behind UCF over 14 weeks but at the end UF bumped ahead with its win over LSU. UCF has been undefeated for two years. UCF's quarterback was injured at the end of the season. UF's top Quarterback recruit picked Georgia yesterday. UF better go back to the long portal. Miami has selected a new team for the fall from the portal. Does soccer have a big portal of players wanting to transfer?

Poor academic fit
New coach coming in
Coach is a douche
New freshman stud likely to take your PT
Other personal reasons

Transfer rates for women's soccer is about 10%, mens 20%. I think men are more likely to go for PT issues. Plenty of non athletes transfer also.

These players were recruited once and can be recruited twice. It could be easier for them the second time around because they are in the portal waiting list and have college performance stats to share. Also the colleges are digging it. Go to the portal and see what finds they can find to fill their gaps.
