Why doesn't the team ask for volunteers for a few drivers each day of the tournament? It would save each famly a bunch of money. If some parents did not travel for the tournament then have them do other responsibilities throughout the year like club volunteering service hours for the team or team meals for another event.

I would say that if the policy up front was you have to pay for a team bus then you agree to that when you join the team.

If it was added after folks joined the team, they should not have to agree to it since it was not part of the original commitment.

Good point. A bus or vans would cost a fortune to rent for a few days, and a player should not be obligated to pay if this was not communicated ahead.

Know of a team where a few players' parents have not made payments into the team account. Then the team manager asks for parents to send in their next monthly payments to cover team travel expenses, but if those other parents who haven't made payments did pay up then the team manager would't have to keep asking for as much money from the rest of the team parents. What should the parents who are paying do? Stop paying too until the other parents catch up on their payments?

Ever heard the saying "the more you make, the more you spend". A bigger house, a bigger electric bill, make more kids and more expenses... It's all relative. People have to live and save within their means.

I've heard it. I'm not a good planner though. Never have been. It's on me because I came from a poor family. I've watched my grandfather work and save his whole life only to die 2yrs out of retirement, never getting to enjoy his money.

I like how in some countries they give four to five weeks off to workers. We work too hard in America. Incorporate four day weeks, more paid time off, and take advantage of those times to enjoy the money earned.

‘We’re making 6 figures’ oh poor baby. How much did your kids iPhone X cost? How about their cars? How many time shares do you have? Is the first number of your bmw more than twice the amount of kids you have? Do you have bedroom closets and have no idea what’s in them? When was the last time you went off roading in you 4x4? Golf course memberships that you don’t use? Did you spend triple digits on your kids cleats? Maid service? Lawn service?

If any of the above apply to you, F OFF!!! Many of us can’t afford any of this crap, but still figure out how to make it work with our measly 5 figure incomes. Take all 6 of your digits and shove them up your a**.

You are a piece of work. Things are expensive today and have expenses that didn’t exist 15 years ago. Guy is just asking if others are experiencing the same. I can say I am in the same boat.

Look at teachers in Florida that received a 1% increase in salary but their health care expenses went up over 1%. Look at many of the coaches who don't get health insurance or benefits with the part time work.

Yet most European countries score much higher on happiness and quality of life studies, thanks to long vacations, paid sick and maternity leave, free or very low cost health care, free or very low cost preschool, free or very low cost college education, and retirement benefits you can actually live on

Car Insurance

I have two teenage boys and four cars. I am paying $4K in insurance every six months which seems awful expensive to me. Can anyone else share what they are paying if in similar situation.
