So all the negatives Rush coaches told us before tryouts about ECNL being horrible and more expensive was a lie. Come to find out from a friend that moved their son to FKK ECNL their club fees are a couple hundred less.
So 2K to play Rush NPL or FPL talent plus probably another 2K+ in team fees for average tournament play. We stayed based on what the Rush coaches were telling us but now regret not going to ECNL tryout.

Fkk’s fees were clearly marked on their website

ECNL CLUB FEES: $1850 team fees $1500 for 02&08, $1800 for 07, $2400 for 06 and $3000 for the other years between 06 and 02
NPL: $1650, team fees range between $1400 for most except 02 which is $1100, up until 05 it’s either $900 or $550

Fkk ECNL team fees are actually lower then what you posted especially the $3000 estimate.
But the end result is ECNL fees are no more expensive then regular, in fact it looks like they might be cheaper then Rush. Great thing is boys travel via coach bus and stay all together.

Well it’s good if they are but nearly 5k as based on the website is crazy and the problem with the pay to play model. Good chance they are as some cannot afford it, but are good players so the rest are paying for them

How much of that 2k * 20 does the coach see?

Paying the same amount for Rush to me is worse. Pretty sure Rush's team fees don't include travel costs. At least with ENCL that's included in team fees. We had friends at Rush and their team fees were close to 3.5 K. To me that's way to expensive for just NPL/FPL play.

                Don’t forget Rush joined SFFA.

I hear Rush are offering full rides as they as so desperate to retain any semblance of talent DA wise.

All the decent and even half decent kids left.

To play high level competitive soccer you must train more which costs more in staff, you must travel more which costs more and you must usually pay more for high level tournaments, etc. Yes, it is expensive but if you choose to play at this level the high expense is known. Get granular with it, if you pay $2K for 10 months of training 3 times a week what do you pay per training session?

So you are assuming Rush with high level of training, please NPL and FPL. Now if you told me it was due to the increase of WO and NTC fields then that's believable.

NPL, just as a heads up, is not, I repeat, NOT high level competitive soccer...it is rec soccer
now if you have no issue paying that kinda cash for rec soccer, then more power to you..

You really think they're playing at a high level? NPL and FPL are on par with GPS, South Orlando and Space Coast, or the 3rd teams of big clubs. You don't need to travel out of state and I highly doubt there is suddenly more staff at training sessions. Rush has lost control of their costs, and their desire to push so much travel on teams that are not competitive.

And in addition to the $4-5K, you also need to bring your own ball. You can't expect them to buy each coach a bag of decent soccer balls for that price!

They don't train for ten months it is at most 9 months and probably closer to 8 but, lets assume 35 weeks of training and none are cancelled. That makes 105 training sessions which is generous. There are 30 games that will occur. That is 135 times the coach is there.

$2000/135 is about $15 per session. Most rush rosters have 20 kids so that is $300 per training session where you have to bring your own ball.

Must say as a Rush loyalist for 5 years we finally took our son to ECNL. Got tired of the same old competition every year and our kicker was the whole acys ordeal at tryouts. We did our research and found total costs were similar but there was more of a team atmosphere with ECNL plus from friends that have been there 2 years the competition is heads above NPL/FPL. As our son got older this was the next progression, when he was younger the comfort of Rush was OK. My 2cents.
