If they are kids who play at top teams at other clubs they won't be going to a 3rd or 4tb team at OC, if they didn't get into the purple pool

      Purple II

Is Purple II worth it? Apart from not having the top players what will Purple II NOT get?
Same number of practice days? What leagues? Same tournaments?

This is been talked about endlessly on this forum.

U13 and above Purple II IS NOT Purple I. First of all since this was tryouts for NPL, Purple II IS NOT an NPL team. Leagues for Purple II will be limited to GCF/Region B League and maybe FSPL depending on the age group.

Purple II will pay the same prices as Purple I but will not participate in the same level as Purple I.

Practices last year were only 2 days a week for Purple II (some talk that this might change but more realistic that it changes for Purple I teams).

Other than State Cup/Regions Cup and OC Cup, Purple II WILL NOT participate in same tournaments as Purple I nor at the same level as Purple I.

Purple II is a glorified White team.

          On a positive note:

OC will allow player movement between teams if player improves throughout season (no different than if you were on white team). However, don't come in automatically expecting that.

Depending on age, some Purple II teams actually have some decent coaches.

Depending on age, some Purple II teams are better than other clubs main team and are very competitive or better (not always) than Purple I team.

If you get stuck on Purple II, not the end of the world but also consider other options. However, you will not be treated as an elite player by any stretch of the imagination.

I'm sure the girl Girl with the Torn ACL is still currently better than your daughter who has to good ACL's. Mildly put if it were your daughter who was injured you wouldn't be asking for her removal from team.. DOUCHE Bag,,,
Actually was kinda saying the opposite. Obviously not going to drop someone who happens to be injured but is better. It's the marginal players who aren't really any better than new ones. Tough for coach. With available roster of 30 for ecnl team - why not let time show who deserves spot.

If you are good enough you will play ECNL. OC has no issue adding or cutting players. The best players play.

Don't kid yourself. Fatdad is in charge and making all the moves for several teams. AH is his b1tch and the ultimate goal is to get ball scratcher SB back in charge so he can initiate the final phase of his master plan. Stubbles and crazy Brazilian dad are running point and planting the seeds. NWO is on its way!!

SB what a joke! Could not get his team out of the first round of State Cup. He still needs guest players because he cannot develop his own players. Still feeding his parents the same old crap!

Why do some age groups have a Purple II and some not. Does that mean the club thinks they have a larger pool of talented players at that specific age?

Some of it is pool of talent depending on the age mixed in with numbers and what they need to make the financials work. At the younger ages its just marketing to make the parents believe little Landon will someday be an MLS star.

Yes, it just a Marketing game . This is done so the parents can say my kid is on " Purple" II . Lots of people fall for the bait each year. Most ignorant partents will bite.

U12 and below have the same coaches for purple 1 and purple 2. they play similar leagues at these ages and a lot of same tournament. in my kids age group, our purple 2 was better than most clubs top team.
