BS, so that's what we pay for in addition to the poor training. Yes parents of purple and everyone outside of DA funded by MLS, besides your own travel for tournaments, you find the ECNL teams free travel. The MLS is not paying for that, we are. So complain yes

My kid has been at OC since the beginning. There were some growing pains. There are opportunities for improvement. I believe they have a solid vision and are headed in the right direction. That said, this club is not for everyone... I like the 2x per week practice because I use 2 other nights for personal trainers. As good as the coaches are, I do not believe that any " team" coach can truly develop a player. They develop a team.... I also do not worry about wins or losses. I let the coach, coach. I'm more concerned that my kid enjoys the game. I want my kid to learn to work hard. I want my kid to learn that getting to the top isn't the entire battle. I want my kid to know that there is always someone out there trying to take their spot. OC provides a place for all of this.. As far as the goalie training, I do not know first hand. The parents of our keeper like it. I see improvement and the kid is working hard and seems to like it....... I will say, FKK offers more of a "family" atmosphere. Good coaches too. If your looking for the best way to college, I would say save your money. Both clubs tell me my kid is a shoe in for college.. I understand it's a sales pitch. Go with your gut. Heck try them both. There's enough club hopping going on.

Our team practices twice a week and coaches held voluntary trainings over the summer and during the winter break after the holidays. There are politics, but that is at all clubs. You won't be happy with every decision, that's just life. You tell your kid to work hard, do their best, worry about their own development and their time will come. GK training is excellent. My daughter is doing well and they focus on skills and development based on age. One may think their kids could do so much, but you have to take it in steps. Some want to play up and rush it. Why, so that you can frustrate your kids when they struggle in the hurry to be the greatest. My daughter is on P2, but is the strongest GK in her age and probably should be playing with P1. Others on both teams tell her that too, but it hasn't happened. She works hard, is developing and loves her team. Her team was undefeated in the Spring and won two tourneys. She knows that whatever her number is called she will be ready.
Several purple team players are already told OCYS is not for anyone who think they can make it to DA or ECNL from within. If they were so good, they already would have been in DA and ECNL. Once you are in any of the non-DA and non-ECNL team, whether you stay or leave, you are done for life. So best strategy is to join only when they pick you for DA or ECNL. Until then stay far away from OCYS as possible. This is exactly what OCYS top coaches advised us!
