Hmmmm, and other clubs don't? We have been called by FCA, FKK, PDA, JFC, Rush, WFF, and even Sunrise. Everyone recruits. OC just has the better product at the moment. Their training is as good, maybe better than the others. If the hater clubs were that good at developing players, they should be able to take what they have and win. I don't hate these other clubs, most of the girls know and like each other. It a few mean spirited parents.

Nobody at OC seems to be able to answer the question, what makes you better than any other club, except you are bigger? DA has nothing to do with OCYS so remove that completely. The only person that can even claim he's a decent trainer is GB. OCYS has yet to win anything nor produce any players worth mentioning. What are the commits on the 18 ECNL team? You've basically had that team forever and what do you have to show for it? How many State Cup or Disney Showcase titles? How many Dallas Cup, Surf Cup titles? The only thing you've won is YDL and Seminole Soccer League, 2 leagues OC started. OC can't even compare to Rush, Sunrise, JFC, WFF and FKK.

That is not a question for OC to answer. It's a question for those clubs to answer. The reason it's on them to answer is because they are losing players to OC. If OC wasn't better the players wouldn't leave. Bash OC all you want, it is becoming a destination club for top level talent. If your clubs don't figure out why then fiure out how to combat it, you will only have the glory days to talk about.

Only 1 club lost players, fca. Fkk is probably over 1000 and rush hasn't lost anyone.

I think this may be a better question,,,,, what if OC did not have DA or ECNL ? They do have them both and each draw kids, but what if they didn't.

They lose players to other clubs too. So it goes both ways. So it is a destination club?? I don't experience that.

They have MLS so by defacto they will have DA. If they did not have MLS they would just be another club. If your kid is a DA or ECNL player OC is a good option. However, if your kid is not I don't believe OC is any different than any other club. They have pretty good coaches but training is a problem. They don't have enough of it compared to all the other clubs. Unless they begin to make changes to this I don't think OC will go anywhere and the other clubs will provide more value.

Can you back that statement up? I mean seriously, how do you say that OC does not have enough training compared to other clubs? My understanding is that every competitive club in town trains 2 -3 nights per week (most 2x with 1 optional). Are you saying that OC trains less than that, or that other clubs are training more? Please cite specific examples as most training calendars can be found on-line, I would like to verify.

Thank you for showing up late to this discussion. This has been a topic for several months and can be proven by just going online to the OC website. If you are on U12 or U13 "Pre-DA" (or a member of the CM or GB circle) you will train 3 days a week and game. ALL OTHER teams purple or otherwise (other than DA and ECNL) train 2 days a week. Training schedules are online on the OC website. Do you need more facts?

Every competitive team on my sons age group at any other club trains 3 days a week at a minimum.

CM and GB coach all the purple teams from u9-u13 ( boys ) which is a total of 8 or so. The u12 and U13 purple teams are technically the "Pre DA" teams. I think what you are not understanding is that these are the "competitive" teams at OC and they are all training 3 times a week. Sorry to rain on your parade but anything that is not purple is not really considered competitive especially at the younger ages. All the other DA and ECNL teams have their own training schedules.

It's not a better question. It's a hypothetical question. OC has DA & ECNL and it does draw players, good players..Asking imaginary questions will not change this. Just to humor you, If OC did not have ECNL or DA, there would be no OC or it would be another rec club. My kid would be playing for the club who had these programs... I would be on that thread answering the same hypothetical question from a member of a club who hated my club for having ECNL & DA.

100% correct. Purple is the top team for boys & girls U9-U12. Purple teams from U13 up are really OC's second teams. Yes, there is a different training schedule for the competetive teams.. My kid is on a younger purple team. She trains with the club 2x per week with an option for 3. With private lessons and gameday, she has soccer at least 5x per week. If my child was on white she would have the same schedule. If she doesn't make ECNL, We will have to find a way to get her to 1 more training session. The club offers options for that. Kids can get permission to join sessions with other coaches.

How are U15 ecnl players training with U18 players getting the 18's better? This is supposed to get our kids ready for college? Alan is just lazy.

To give you all information Pre DA and Pre ECNL do not exist and are not recognized by ECNL or US Soccer. All purple teams outside of CM and GB train 2 days a week. OC has a technical training session that is not attended very regularly by anyone and is promoted as day 3. It is not a team training, its just dribbling session. Some coaches (very very few) do provide an additional day but this has to go through the club and quite often the club says "no" especially now as there is less field space and Seminole fields are a wreck.

U9-U13 purple are no different to U14-U18 purple. All those teams should be the funnel through the DA/ECNL system. However, everyone knows that they are not. There is no way a player training 2x a week can compete with a DA/ECNL player training 4 to 5.

I will let you in on a little secret for those families with younger players. You might be tickled pink thinking your kid is on CM's or GB's love fest but your kid is just another player. A small percentage of those 110 players on CM's U12 purple teams have any chance of making DA. Same for GB. When your kid is not chosen you to will go back to 2x a week just like every other player you mock.
