there is talk on the FCA thread that DT (and possibly AH) have been caught in "trysts" with parents... my daughter is about to make the move over to OC i know that i should know better than to believe anything i read on TS but it's making me have doubts as i have heard those rumors before...

if true do i really want my daughter (or my wife for that matter) be anywhere near a couple of guys who have - at best - dubious ethics or at worst are complete slimeballs.

has anyone else heard this, do you think it's true? should i even worry about it?

Actually I am an ECNL parent and there is not one shred of criticism in that post. If you want to deny the way the numbers dwindled once the selections started, then you can believe what you want to believe. I was there Mon, Tue and Wed and the numbers fell by over 50% once the first selections were made Tuesday. Those picked did not need to come back and those that knew they were not going to be picked decided to try-out at other clubs. That is the truth. Now tell me what you have a problem with? Kids having a choice

I was there Mon, Tue and Wed and the numbers fell by over 50% once the first selections were made Tuesday. The girls that came back out on Wed and Thurs were the girls already selected. They made them come back out. They are making them come back out Tuesday. Why? Because they do not want the girls selected that have not signed up going to FKK or any other club to see their options. Also, they want it to look like they are having such a great turnout when most of the players next week will already be on a team. OC plays this game, FKK plays this game. Here is what I do believe....kids should be ale to look at their options and then make a decision based on what is best for them as an individual player.

I agree. It's interesting to watch how all the clubs maneuver in an effort to "lock down" players. From scheduling tryouts on the same nights to demanding kids be at every night or risk losing a roster spot, to requiring the contract immediately upon selection.

It's hard for people to resist the pressure. I have seen many (the toughest ones) simply say "no" to the tactics and they still got what they wanted with the club they liked best. When all is said and done, the clubs are concerned they will lose good players, and all the bluster is just for show.

As you can clearly see there are Fkk posters in here trying their best to badmouth OC heavy at tryout time. Guess what it didn't work. Fkk needs to rethink their lie tactics to try and sway athletes. Everyone knows the drama over their and that OC had an amazing turnout. Give it up you are a little late to try and create issues. I hope any parent looks at their posts from here on out and understands if they are this desperate in TS imagine being over there. The time is limited and they know it.

Try and separate sarcasm and tired old jokes from real recruiting. HM knows who he wants and is working the phones with JA. They are not interested in having a mega-club cuz that did not work out so well last time. FKK just wants the best players and for that reason, there will always be a dog fight with OC. This town is too small and talent too scarce for two elite teams. Even if you can pull girls over from SCU, you would not be able to field two elite U13-18 programs. So just realize they are throwing stones and we have tanks. All will be fine in due time. Let them have the small victories for now as they have attracted much of the top talent. If Alan continues to build a strong ECNL program, we will ultimately be the destination for talent and they will be the destination for girls who don't want the pressure of playing for a scholarship.
