Gotta love how OC wants to think that a Coalition is all FKK .... It is every area club. These clubs are happy to work together and let one another exist. What they are banding against is not just the field issue, but OC's fight for a 100-mile homegrown rule - for those of you that haven't bothered to do their research - OC wants to be able to find a diamond in any club in a 100-mile radius and take them for their own. It's not about disadvantaged kids. It's about that one star.

Coalition may be several clubs but the posts are all the same FKKrazy. That is what we are talking about on here. The same idiot trying to slander OC to promote FKK.

A week has gone by and still a one page website and several hundred posts by the FKKrazy. Still no offer to go into poor neighborhoods and teach soccer to families that will never pay $1500 to play at FKK. Nothing. Just talk. When you ask them what they will do to promote soccer in the community, they get defensive and say only OC has to do something to get their stadium. Classy FKK. Real Classy. Go give out free clinics to more kids in the burbs. I am sure they are in desperate need for soccer instruction in their gated communities. You guys are so transparent.

Same guy from FKK posting over and over and pretending to by OC parent, concerned Rush parent and angry FCA parent. Anyone can see that the closer we get to try-outs the more he is going to post and try and sway people to spend their $1500 with FKK. I don't think he even understands how much damage he has done to his own club. OC has DA and ECNL and kids will come from miles around to try and make those teams this spring. Not a single complaint from an OC parent on here about ECNL this year and that speaks volumes more than the rantings of some FKKrazy.

But let's live in reality here, trying to branch out to the non paying folk is just beyond the comprehension of some people. At least OC was trying to neighborhoods beside oviedo and winter springs. There are poor kids outside of that area.

We all applaud the effort of any Central Florida Soccer club helping underprivileged children in our community. The local soccer clubs of Central Florida have been helping our children for years. The amount of free scholarship must total in the millions over a 15/20 year period. What I most appreciate inn the act of giving is the need to NOT hold a public forum. A big difference in the New Orlando City Model is public notice they crave. If OC is in a giving mode then forget trying to get these low income latchkey kids to a soccer park at 5pm. Most all of these underprivileged kids have no ride to a soccer complex. OC needs to help straight into school and pick up a shovel and start training these kids. Schools have gyms and play grounds and water fountains for breaks. Schools are looking for after school helpers. We welcome OC doing their part since our tax dollars are going to fund a stadium. While your at it OC start building a new church.

Kids in America need God in their lives.
Do our fearless OC leaders believe in the lord or are they non believers we lean on Government. Say a prayer tonight in hoping the Lord opens the eyes of the Non Believers.

HM is a saint! He offered us a scholarship to our ODP daughter to come play at FKK and we live in Windermere. The money we save on club fees almost pays for the gas we use in our Range Rover. FKK does good deeds for players outside of their area.

What he wants to do and what he can do may be two different things. The rule is still evolving, but MLS establishes the rules, and I think he would have to have some type of affiliate agreement with the other clubs in order to be able to sign their players under the homegrown rule, similar to what Philadelphia Union does. So I would need to see his quote in its full context to know if he is trying to do something unique, or if he is trying to model it after Philadelphia. From what I have read about the rule, he can't just go to another club and say, "I want that player." (It sounds like if he wants to get other clubs to affiliate with OC, he has a lot of work to do.)

according to what I read, the rule clearly states that to be declared "homegrown" a player MUST have played at least one year in the MLS club's youth system. The way I see it, Phil will be recruiting like crazy from all other clubs- even though only two "homegrown" players are allowed per roster.

Not sure what the point of this system/rule is? Does it prevent other MLS Clubs from recruiting young talent from within 75 miles of another club?

I think the original comment was "Not a single complaint from an OC parent on here about ECNL this year". One parent complaint about training for U10 - U12 girls is hardly going to start a mass exodus. At least not compared to the numbers OC is going to pick up from FCA next year. No one except the current crop of FKKrazies wants to have anything to do with your club next year.

...and more power to him. The free tickets will go away as soon as OC can start selling out seats in their new stadium. Which will be a great day for soccer in Central Florida. If you hate the game so much why don't you just go away?
