So will any of the girls playing ECNL this weekend also play on their regular assigned teams at the tournament? Aren't there a few younger girls playing up? Please don't tell me these girls wil be playing 3 games.

The Orlando group seeking an MLS expansion team cleared another hurdle when the Orlando board of commissioners voted unanimously Monday to approve the use of Tourist Development Tax funds for multiple venues, including a proposed downtown soccer stadium.

Those funds for the soccer stadium would amount to $20 million of the $94.5 million in tax revenues. Other moneys would be used for the construction of the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center, renovation of the Citrus Bowl and tourism marketing.

“This is obviously a very big step toward our goal of bringing MLS,” said Orlando City president Phil Rawlins. “I am delighted to have the City behind us so we can now focus on the second vote that is only two weeks away.”

That vote on Oct. 22 is by the Orange County commissioners, where there has been more resistance to the stadium project.

After initial reservations, Orange County mayor Teresa Jacobs agreed to join Orlando mayor Buddy Dyer in recommending the use of the Tourist Development Tax for the MLS stadium.

Several county commissioners have been seeking concessions from the Orlando City soccer group to pay for recreation projects that would provide park space for soccer fields.

Flavio Augusto da Silva, the Brazilian owner of Orlando City SC, set this fall as the target for the announcement of Orlando as MLS's 21st team to begin play in 2015.

Orlando City, winner of USL PRO titles in 2011 and 2013, is building its 2014 USL PRO roster with the idea that it will be in MLS in 2015.

Four of the last five MLS expansion teams -- Seattle, Portland, Vancouver and Montreal -- were outgrowths of existing clubs that had played in USL leagues.

Schedules are posted. Now you can start complaining about something else.

This weekend my son made it to the next round. So you're saying that if he were to make a DA that he cannot attend secondary tryouts in Alabama or that he would have to sacrifice one for the other if he DID make the state team? I'm confused.

We pay you good money you should not talk to us like that. We need to know so we can plan.

If you are in the DA you cannot participate in ODP, this is a US soccer rule. DA does not start until U14 so before that do whatever you want, OC does not forbid anyone from participating in ODP outside of the DA. Obviously some of these posts are from people outside of OC just trying to start another crazy rumor. because if you did play at OC you would know that there are OC players participating in ODP.

I understand that. I'm a parent too, and am glad they didn't wait until Friday to post the schedules. Just frustrated with those who look for something to complain about regardless of what OCYS does (especially when most of those aren't even with OCYS anymore). I apologize for assuming that you were one of "those."

Also, I'm not involved with OCYS management in any way. I just have a child who plays there, so please don't take my comment as being from the club. They get enough criticism (some deserved), and I don't want to be the cause of any additional, undeserved grief.

                  Good luck this weekend.

What a joke of a tournament. Look at u14 and u13 boys brackets. All cosy mad the u14 bracket has the 99/00, 00/01 and the 01/02 purple teams all playing first div. the u13 bracket still has a tab team listed. Lots of money for an inter-club scrimmage. Everyone should have come to the ACDC tournament like they did last year and played some real games.

So sad, we feel bad for all you parents forced into this tournament. Next time you should stand up and demand something better for your hard earned money.

Who cares it's not about development but rather how many hotel rooms will be booked by out of town teams.

Any idea how many hotels rooms will be booked from looking at out of town teams?

Or maybe you should have saved the money you are spending on hotel rooms and helped build a local tournament. You know, build something for the community, since that is what you say you are all about. Here was your chance to see how you stack up against the "Purple Lion" and you passed it up.

You took one age group and sex and picked on it. So let's do that with Tampa. Randomly picked U11Girls- 5 Tampa teams. The rest are generally considered B level teams (Pinecrest excluded since I couldn't tell you anything about them)- FKK Krush haven't proven themselves either so maybe they are an A team in the mix.

So with your logic, this is an inter-club scrimmage and at best a Div 3 tournament with some trophy hunters. Does that cover what the OCYS haters are trying to convey- interclub scrimmage, poor level tournament and the only outsiders that are going our trophy hunters?

Good grief. Enjoy your weekend- wherever it might be.

No true. US soccer does not forbid players from playing ODP. Is their own clubs the one who don't want them to do ODP
Here is the rule from US soccer
To maintain a focus on training, Academy teams do not play in any other leagues, tournaments, State Cup competitions, ODP or All-Star events without written permission from their Academy staff ( meaning their club)
