Not a joke. Unacceptable. Embarrassing behavior that doesn't belong anywhere in youth soccer.

The coach was fined and sanctioned by the league.

As far as the histrionics regarding the club... please. This was a volunteer coach in the recreational program, not a paid professional under the auspices of the academy (DA/Purple/Red/White). This was a daddy coach that's committed his time for his son and teammates, and screwed up.

Please don't make this into something it is not. I'm glad OCYS is supporting the rec side for those players and parents (like my kids and me) that want to play soccer without committing to the grueling and costly endeavor that is "premier" soccer. Please let us have our Saturday GCF D2 and D3 games; most everyone I see out there week over week is enjoying the experience and doesn't need any more clubs being torn apart for your pleasure or financial gain.

No you have it wrong

First off, the player was very close to being offside. He started his run in his own half but your son's pass was late so the player was right at the line. He was offside from my vantage point, but it was very close. The ref had no linesman on that side and he shouldn't have been questioned about that call.

But let's be absolutely clear about who threw the first blow. The coach definately got into the referee's face after he was red carded, but he did not touch the referee until after the ref head butted him. This was witnessed by both benches and for anyone close to the action this fact is not in dispute. My guess is the starter of this thread was the fat guy in the blue shirt that went charging across the field to insert himself into the fight like some half-***ed Rambo. He was on the complete opposite side of the field and would not have been able to see the head-butt from his angle.

I don't condone the coach's actions, he was out of line and initiated the confrontation. However, 2 wrongs don't make a right and the referree should also be suspended.

Never saw a head butt. Saw the coach who had screamed like a little girl berating his players all match long charge on the pitch. Saw the ref attempt to eject him. I ran out there as there were 3 OC coaches on one buck 50 ref, and I didn't want to see him get hurt. If that is a "Rambo" so be it. 28 yrs in the military tells me I never run away from a fight from bullies. I would have knocked him out, but when I arrived it seemed the other to city dudes were trying to pulling him off, so I tried to help. Either way I showed great and proper restraint.

The ref had no mark on his forehead. Not even a red spot. Speaking of Fat, the coach who outweighed the ref by at least 75 lbs had a bleeding bump above his left eye. The coach was a quite a bit taller. I don't see how that wound would have occurred toe to toe as the coach got in his face. If the headbutt occurred it was from the back of the refs head when he was being choked from behind, or as my son saw it the refs watch as a defensive blow. Bottom line in addition to whatever the league or OC does to him, he got his butt kicked in public by someone half his size.

The cops should have arrested him, but it is my belief he made up this lie about a head butt. Any violence was started by him and witnessed by pretty much all. The cops asked me to give a statement and they relayed to me the coach's claims. Seems like all criminals he lied to keep himself from going to jail. The ref didn't push it as he is apparently the better man.

I haven't insulted anyone here sir. If you have a problem with me or my actions, I can be found at any Rockledge club games, or Rockledge HS games and you know what I look like.

Do not know about that club but it is a growing trend. ODP has so much favoritism built within it, DOC recommendations for example, that often the best are shunned. So why have top players feeling rejected when in fact their talent was ignored. So many venues to showcase talent today, do it in one that is more objective.
