      Not a secret...

Attention: Orlando City Youth Soccer Club Families

With the 2015-16 season is underway, now is an opportune time to update to all members regarding Orlando City and its youth team programs.

First, the OCYS Board of Directors has determined the necessity of a leadership change and parted ways with its former Executive Director Steve Rammel. Steve's work and contributions to the organization over the past couple years are appreciated. Rest assured, there will be no disruption in our daily operations on or off the field as the capable full-time staff at OCYS, led by Laura Halfpenny (Business Manager). Paul Shaw (Boys DOC), and Alan Hough (Girls Academy Director), will manage affairs in their respective areas with additional support as needed from the front office staff of our MLS team at their disposal.

This leadership transition offers a natural opportunity to analyze and strengthen our operational structure and processes. To that end, Paul McDonough (MLS Team General Manager) and I in our capacity as OCYS Board members are undertaking an internal assessment of all aspects of our youth structure. Understanding that effectuating some of the changes may take time in order to reach the requisite levels (for instance, improvement of field quality), our intent is to make positive enhancements in numerous areas immediately.

Achieving these positive changes will require not only strong daily management and leadership, along with active strategic direction from its Board of Directors, but also a renewed focus on creating an exceptional customer experience for member players and their families. Whether this is the quality of our facilities, the frequency/timeliness of our communications, or the level of training & competitions, we will strive to exceed the expectations of our members in all interactions as a matter of club philosophy. Once new initiatives have been presented to and approved by the OCYS Board for implementation, there will be further and more detailed communication.

Finally, and in order to arrive at the optimal structure to best serve the entire club community, it is of critical importance that the overall philosophy, culture, and initiatives of our club be properly aligned at all levels. We are all part of a single club, ORLANDO CITY , whether it is a MLS game, an in-house recreational league game, an ECNL game, or any other Orlando City soccer / community program - it is all one Orlando City. The fact that we have a completely vertically-integrated club at all levels for both genders under a single, globally-respected soccer brand is what makes what we are all a part of truly special and the foundation for our future growth and success.

As always, thank you for being a part of Orlando City. We are deeply passionate about this club and highly focused on serving our members at all levels.

      Regards,

      Tim Holt
Vice President of Development, Orlando City Soccer Club
Board Member, Orlando City Youth Soccer

Open your eyes people! OCYS Board of Directors is "pro heavy". 3 represent youth, 3 represent pro, with Phil Rawlings being the tie breaker. They are only out to benefit the pro team!!! They don't care about the youth. Only using them.

It doesn't. Just SR and the remaining are focused on taking the club to another level. Good growth and performance so far as a program, just not great yet. Look forward to that next level.

Yeah we are going to let the Pro side resources help out the youth side. LOL! Their pro side needs to clean house!!! Can't we aim a little higher please?

DEVELOPMENT AT OC IS TERRIBLE - especially in the girls side. Most of their success comes from the acquisition of players developed elsewhere. The place is a joke.

We've been with OC since the beginning. Why does this seem par for the course? The leadership waits until things get so bad (facility conditions, play on the field, poor communications, unhappy customers, etc...) before they react with a "renewed" commitment to the players and families. How many times is this going to happen? It's not like we're a new club anymore. When people left the first time, we stood by this club through thick and thin for its potential. Sooner than later, we need to start living up to it. I agree with everything Tim is saying, but its time to cut through all the BS and start getting it done!

Why did SR lose his job?
