Dude- what planet did you wake up on? When HM arrived at CFU and began shifting attitudes and culture he almost got run out of town by parents because he didn't let them sway him. go back and research TS threads from back then and try to square your bizarre statement with the info you find.

You obviously know NOTHING about the man, his management style or his club philosophy. The above post is about as close to 100% fantasy as I've ever read on here. Tell thr truth- have you EVER even spoken to him? Has your kid ever played in a club run by HM?

In this country, the parent is the focus because they are the one that signs the kid up to play. They are the customer because they pay to play.

In countries where they win World Cups, the Academies send scouts out to find the real players and they invite them to play.

HUGE difference. The soccer clubs and camps in this country do not send their advertising to Landy or Mia. They send it to the parents and that is where the focus of youth soccer is in this country. Can't make the bucks unless the parents write the checks. If the US ever wants to compete, they need to make the MLS teams fund youth development and take the parents out of the equation.

They've never been told not to. They stopped all mention of ECNL until it gets worked out on their own.

Really? All mention? Like the ECNL logos all over the site. Like the pages explaining ECNL and how OC is a member club. Now what about ECNL? Why have they not removed OC? Why don't they issue there own statement debunking myths?

I will tell you why. They don't want to get in the middle of a domestic dispute. HM feels he brought ECNL to Orlando and he is entitled to think that. He also needed PH to bail out his debt. ECNL is a governing body which means they need clubs to get along or risk losing members. So they tell OC and HM to get in a room and work it out. What happens? HM brings in college coaches during try-outs and offers "free workouts". Very telling indeed.

How will OC react to HM's own try-outs? Will they offer free training with the pros? Not likely.

You see you have someone who desperately wants to be the Godfather of Soccer for this town and he clearly lacked the organizational or fiduciary skills to carry through on his dream of bringing ECNL to Orlando. He needed OC and he expected the club to fawn over him with appreciation. The truth is that they probably look at HM as all Brits look at American Soccer - the same way we look at World Football. The same way we look at Canadian Football. The same way we look at our own Arena football. Nice try but far from the real thing.

Actually, it appears ECNL is the one thinking that way. That's why they refuse to allow OCYS to proceed with tryouts, despite all the promises the club has made to improve. ECNL doesn't want to have to yank the league away- they want OCYS to swallow it's English arrogance, admit they've made mistakes and figure out a way to get HM back in the fold.

Orlando - The City of Little Whiny Losers

I am so tired of all this back and forth on Orlando soccer. You idiots think posting is akin to taking action. It reminds me when you ran out Shaq, Penny, T-Mac and Dwight. A bunch of sniveling little losers. Why don't you try supporting your teams, coaches and players and see if you can win a title or two. Look at Tampa. They had the Yucs for years but they finally realized that you don't keep a team around very long when you keep kicking it like a dog. Now Tampa has a Stanley Cup and a Super Bowl Trophy. Orlando has an Arena League Trophy.

Same could be said for Miami. Now that have 2 World Series Championships and a football team with the only perfect season in the NFL. We have UCF which won the Liberty Bowl.

Now Orlando has minor league soccer. It started out great with fans tailgating, creating their own sections and enjoying the games. The team won its minor league trophy. Everyone was happy. Then the youth soccer merger and the infighting and complaining and now we will not get MLS and if PH was smart, he would take his team somewhere else where they enjoy their sports. As long as you idiots keeping tearing down your own teams, you will never see the success of Tampa or Miami. You will always be the Mickey Mouse town.

Let's recap - the Director of Operations fails to deliver on 3 tournaments - he's fired - and the next tournament looks has a decent number of teams.

The crazy parents are gone, and the tryouts are running well...

Looks obvious to me what the problem was.

And this is probably why ECNL is taking their time - they know that through time competing they will be able to see more clearly as they have to make a choice.

We have been to ECNL/FPL tryouts this week and it has been well run. The place is packed and they run two sessions a night. Check-in was less than 5 minutes. Fields were well marked and the coaches are professional. They do not come over to the sidelines and chat up the parents which explains why so many parents feel they are not getting enough communication. I do get daily emails telling where to be, what time to have my kid there and how long she will be there. Honestly, what more info do you need until you know if your kid made the team?

My favorite part are the signs that say "Players and Coaches Only". After a few nights, I could definitely see why the signs are needed. This group of sideline parents are so involved in everyone else's business. It is literally like having a live version of TS. The gossip about FCA fields, FKK, who was coaching, who was moving...even rumors about the players. What are you doing? Handicapping try-outs?

People, these are little girls playing a game. Why are so obsessed with all this gossip? Whatever happened to feeling good about your daughter doing something healthy that builds confidence? Would you rather she be like all the other girls her age and be spending all her time in front of a mirror crying over all her imperfections?

Lighten up and get a life.
