Absolute Lie....

OCYS is now barring their own members from using their fields. It allows them a patch of grass (without goals) behind the stadium bleachers.

This absolutely sucks. Thank you very much new exec director, way to start off your new reign.

Not sure who has been filling your ears with sh!t but they only closed the left side of the complex. Yes that's right, there are 2 sides! My child is playing SuperY and have been at the complex 3 times a week and can assure you each field has goals and more than a patch of grass to play. Let me ask you.......How is FKK's SuperY teams doing this year? How are your fields holding up? Last but not least, why not tell the TS crowd how the FKK U14 boys did at Disney last week?

Maybe you should read what OCYS executive director wrote about field usage before you talk. He said that anyone that wants to use practice space has to check in at the office and they will direct them to field 3 which is behind the stadium. That is what the OP is talking about. I think it was a stupid point the person was making, as I think they let just anyone come out and use their fields last year. I agree with them that they should limit the usage, those fields were getting in bad shape at the end of the season. They need to learn to manage the field usage much better than they did last year and then they could keep them in good condition.

If I take my kids out to SSC to kick the ball around and all they allow us to do is play on the small patch of grass where they normally hold goalie training...I'm gonna blow a gasket!!!

Why do you think that you should be able to just walk up and use their fields any time you want? Can you do that anywhere else, how about up at Sylvan?

OMG. Almost every field shuts down for a time in the summer and you can't just show up and expect to play there. Most people find a park to go to which is open year round. Why would you expect this privilege just because you play for OCYS?

Same people who bitch about field maintenance, overuse, and over crowding will bitch about the fields being closed for a month for maintenance.

You must be new to the Seminole Soccer Complex. They used to shut down to everyone one week after tryouts except for Super Y ... and that only consisted of a few boys teams. Only during recent history was it changed to allow all members access "whenever". Now with the merger of CFK under OCYS and the additional wear and tear it's pretty impossible to just allow memebers to come out whenever they want and play wherever they want.
